| Smoking... how many of you do it? Personally I hate it, my Grandmother is addicted to it, she is weak and can't even walk to the end of a 100 ft driveway with out getting out of breath. I think its a nasty and unhealthy habbit. Its bullshit that should be put to an end. I hate anything that is unhealthy, and it just tears me when I see my own family member killing herself over a damn cigarette... Any Thoughts? |

I've been smoking a pack of day for over three years now and I run the mile and a half in the 10:00-11:00 range.  I regulary excercise though. Not because I want to, because my job makes me.  And maybe it's just me, but shooting yourself somehow seems worse. |

| [shrugs] Doesn't really matter what you do more than what kind of person you are overall, in my opinion. You could be someone who's heavy on the drug scene and could be one of the best people to talk to versus a straightarrow who's a major prick to converse with and could very well be in less shape than some smoker or whatever...no joke really...it's just how the world works...there are things that are 'taboo' or whatever but that doesn't necessarily mean you don't HAVE to go with that logic. I don't smoke or do drugs or whatever else but that doesn't mean I'm going to take someone down because they do, their right...and as long as they aren't stupid and it's something they enjoy in their own way then why should I say something against it unless it somehow affects me personally? As long as they aren't stupid about it, I would think there's not a lot that I could say against it other than the oversaid 'THAT'S NOT RIGHT!!!111'... And yea...shooting yourself is much worse...you don't believe me then put a 30-06 in your mouth and pull the trigger...guarantee you'll want to light a Camel Light Menthol more than a bullet. |

| kinda funny of you mentioning this... while sleeping till about 8 tonight, while I was asleep.. my grandmother found my ciggertees in my purse again...=/ but didn't take them and threw them away like last time.. i don't get that... but yeah.. I do it.. when I'm at work.. I usually get panic attacks .. not huge ones or anything... just mild or alittle bit more I go out and smoke 1 or 2... it helps... but I'm thinking the reason it does is where.. people take deep breaths whenever they need to calm down and things but yeah.. I know.. I know.. I need to quit... I quit once but started up again |

| I'm 18. The legal age to purchace cigs in this province is 19. Once I turn 19 in December, I intend to go pick up a pack of clove smokes. And repeat as desired. Everyone says not to smoke, because it will kill you. It'll shave a decade off your life. I want to smoke because it will kill me. And that last decade, you don't do anything but sit in a nursing home and shit your pants and wait for death, anyway. |

| Buy a pad lock for your purse, or better yet make a slit in your purse side, just large enough to slide in a few cigarettes but small enough so that your grandmother will over look it. I'm thinking about talking to my grandmother about quitting. She's been smoking about 55 years. Its killing her and I don't want her to die. I'm just worried that speaking with her about this will offend her. |

| For some reason Marlboro lights give me accute cancer of the throat. The past two weeks I was staying with my girlfriend in Seattle and I don't really smoke but I do bum occasionally, so I pretty much haven't had a cigarette in three weeks since all she smokes is Marlboro lights. Though this year at my summer job I smoked 3-5 cigs a day. I didn't exactly bum, I paid for them. But the moment I buy a pack for myself I think I would be addicted. Thus I always make sure I'm getting cigarettes from someone else's pack. On the other hand, I don't have urges to smoke right now. On the whole I wouldn't recommend smoking. Simply because it's a dirty habit with long term health risks, and it makes you more sluggish and harms your lungs. The one thing I really like about smoking a cigarette is the feeling of smoking it - and the smell it leaves on my finger. |

| I would kinda wonder if people would smoke because of the whole trend thing, possibly popularity or if it's the whole escape thing, you know, help ease tension. Maybe both. I'm gonna guess it's the tension killer, but I have no clue why someone would start regardless. | No. Never have, and never will. Both my parents smoked ever since I was born, and I have learned to hate it. On the bright side, my dad just recently quit, which I am immensely pround of him for. He used the money he had saved to put a payment on his new motorcycle. How's THAT for an incentive! |

| Smoking is like anything else, a little here and there and no harm done, but if you overdo it, its going to eventually kill you. I personally smoke a little under a pack a day. I'm going to probably quit before i turn 30, but I'd like to enjoy it right now while I'm still young and my body can recover from any negative side effects fairly quickly. | My grandmother used to smoke when I was younger, she stoped for a while, and now she smokes again. And she really isn't that bad off, save for her hearing going bad. I don't smoke, and I don't care if other do (it's their body and their life) but its just not my thing. And it doesn't have to do with the fact that I am allergic to tobacco and that I have asthma...I just don't want to smoke, never wanted to either. |
