Usually, when the topics are on page 15 or 16, it meanss that it is old.

Maybe the next person that bumps a 2 month old thread, we can capture them and dissect their brain to figure out why.

They bumo them because:
A) They don't know the rules
B) Can't understand the rules
C) Didn't read the rules
D) Don't follow the rules
E) Are plain idiots
F) All of the above.

The FAQ should be taken to mean "rules" as well.

Why do you think we tell newbies to read the FAQ? Some of them likely only glance at it for 10 seconds or scroll over the rules.

Yeah but at least they can't say "there's no rules on the net!" There's always rules, they just choose to be Internet Anarchists.

Ah well. We have the almighty ban powers to counter that.

To answer that i'll use a quote from a few days ago:

Some people bump cause they want to post in the thread. Maybe they were gone and missed it. If I saw a thread about Linkin Park, I'd want to post in it cause I think they're friggin awesome. But, if it was a month old, I'd hesitate because I don't want to get in trouble with the all powerful mods.

Acmlm always has the good answer to everything. But are lamer kinda like rapers? They enjoy it so much?

I wouldn't go near that far. And AghBob, you just wait a while, and recreate the thread.

Yeah but it depends. If you're going to bump something that's a month old, you'd better have a good reason. If I saw someone bump a thread about a random game and say "i just got it it's really cool", there'd be a closing/warning coming. But if the bump was something like "I finally got the game and..." with some actual CONTENT, then it might be OK.

If you think something's too old (like a month+), then make a new thread about that topic.

hmm.. why not have like.. different storage places for the older threads..

like for gaming for instance.. you go into that forum.. and instead of going through the bumping... go into the forum, and at the top.. there will be a storage where you can store all of them.... and do that with every forum

I'm not sure if that made any sense but.. I could draw it out

I think this is thread is usefull for another thing, what's bumping and what to do if you have something to say but there's a old thread about. I wasn't sure myself, so Colleen's post has answer what I was thinking.

Sometimes a forum isn't that busy, and you're looking at over a month of posts on the message list. I've had times where I've gotten all fucked up on some sort of chemical, decided to actually come here for once, and bumped a thread in that fashion and noticed afterwards (my first post under this name, actually).

Some people just do it to get on the acs, gain rank, increase their small penis size, etc.

If someone bumps for the sake of gaining posts they're usually punished with a temp ban. If you really want to post, there's plenty of recent threads to do so in. Or just make your own.

Heck, I'm the most active user half of the time and do I need to bump thread? No. spamming posting in new threads is way enough.

I usially make it a good practice not to post in thread over three days old.
