I would rather have school delayed, you don't have to make the day up and you get to miss some of school

I think now i have left school people should never have a day off school and if they do they will have to spend the rest of their life at school.. sounds fair no?

Thoose two are the same thing for me. If the school must be closed down for one week or something... that's the same thing as messing up the rest of my school year.

400 posts, Kitten Yiffer... geez...

Anyway, delayed... don't wanna stretch the year out more than it needs to be, but I also would like to have some extra time to finish that homework I never completed the night (or weeks) before

Here, sometimes classes would get cancelled, and sometimes they'd be moved to another period (usually in the evening, like 7:00 PM), but that wasn't too often ... and I'm always present, so I don't miss anything either way But extra free time is always nice to have ...

Can't say, really. Never had either. Heck, we've even had school during hurricane warnings and watches. If one didn't want to go to school, you just didn't.

They both seem like the same thing to me. Course school practically never gets cancelled/delayed around here. 28 below out, the roads completely coated in ice, blinding snow blowing in your face, and you still damn well better be on time. About the only time they'll do anything is if the power goes out (or if it's snowing something like I described all day long, sometimes they send people who live way far away home an hour early).

I'm out of school for several years, but I often hated the early beginning at 08:00 PM, on one day in the 11th class we even had to begin at 07:30 PM ... with 2 lessons of sports
On the other hand delaying would steal much more from the spare time after school ... if you regularly finish school at 14:00 AM or 16:00 AM ... there is a difference
Despite the fact I don't like to get up early every day (especially when I'm at work .. but the job/climate w/ the other employees is good ), I rather choose 'delayed' - so I'd keep the spare time I need after school

And splitting the lessons on several days sucks also ... rather finish off school as fast as possible

There's no delays at university. If the teacher can't make it to class - it's cancelled.

Classes end up being cancelled unannounced mostly. Meaning I go in for nothing.

Most the time my school will get cancelled due to bad whether, but if that happens too much, which we don't want to happen, it extends the length of our school year. So we'd have to make up the cancelled days in May which can be pretty annoying.

I'd rather have school cancelled. We don't make up the days so it's good for me

I've missed probably ten days so far this year because of snowstorms.

I don't get this, if you mean school delayed as in 'come back at 10am' then Cancel. Definately Cancel. Who needs education

I say delay, because I don't feel like going to school in the summer time.

Delayed... I need time to catch up on work that I've missed.. and sitting in front of my computer at home doesn't particulary help.

Getting up at noonish isn't too shabby either.

Lucky I've only missed about 2, but not for snowstorms. Whenever we have a snowstorm, I'm going to school, and for completely reasonless times when there is barely any snow on the ground, school is cancelled I don't get how it works

Well, since I have NEVER had a school delay in my entire school career (If you go to my school district, you'd probably have the same record), I would have to say cancellation is my choice. Since we seem to put missed days into the school schelude anyway, and with the way school's been treating me... I sure don't mind them at ALL. Strangely, this post comes up when a winter storm started tracking its marks through the US and cancelled schools in quite a few locations.

Definitely cancellations. Having all day off is better than having part of the day off. Although this year, at least 2-hour delays cause me to miss my first and second hours, which are my least favorite classes.

While I can understand your arguments for having delays, nothing beats a full day off.

It can, however, get out of hand. One year, when we had a bad blizzard season, we had to take off so many days, we were in school until almost August. That sucked.
