So, do these games look familiar to you? I was just wondering what the difference between them and the original Red and Green versions was, aside from updated graphics and a few new connectivity features. Other than little tweaks and changes from Nintendo, there's absolutely nothing that makes these games different from their predecessors, right? So if that's the case, then why release them? This really is the ultimate milking of the Pokemon franchise. |

allows oyu to get your oldbies in Ruby/Sapphire, making for some badass combos....hmm...what else, oh, yea. MUCH more new features than just a few tweaks. Little "cinematics" when you enter a new place, a whole new set of island locations to go to as well...yeah. Definatly alot of new features here

But does that really make the game worth buying? I mean, I still have my old Red Version team around here somewhere, they were pretty much unbeatable. How many times do I have to catch em all, especially when "All" is the same all that I caught back in 1998? Granted, the cinematics would be a nice change and such, but I just plain can't see how it compensates for it being basically the same game as it was six years ago. It's supposed to have various new features, new islands, new sidequests, pokemon can be traded between it and Ruby/Saphire and Colosseum (making the "all" you can catch more than the original 151, and it's my understanding that some of the non-R/G/B/Y pokemon are catchable on the new islands), and it comes with the wireless connector which is said to allow you to connect with up to 39 people at once. And it's pretty clear from the screenshots that the Pokemon have their male or female designations, so the whole breeding thing is probably in there as well.

DON'T FORGET THE POCKET TRAINER'S GUIDE IF YOU PREORDER TODAY! The game content is very similar, but there are plenty of new features. So I guess you could call it an update. |

Or an expansion pack! I have to admit, from my initial reaction I thought they were trying to dupe us into buying Red and Blue again, like they sorta kinda did with Crystal and Yellow. But if there really is all sorts of new stuff in it, I might just check it out.

Heh, I haven't even beaten Ruby yet. I think I'm somewhere near the 7th gym or something. But yeah, the main point of this game is to make it possible to get the previously unavailable pokemon from the older games. I'm not sure if I'll buy it or not, link battles isn't exactly common over here. But hey, it also include the never-before-seen all new pokemon Dexoys (is that how you spell it?). And there are even two different versions of the guy, one in each game. Buy both and catch em all. Or something. |

Deoxys. It has 3 different forms, but you can just catch one and trade it to one of the other 2 (3 when Emerald is released, and that one has a new one, too) and it'll become the other game's version... I think. This is essential, because Ruby and Sapphire don't have the data for attack or defense (or Emerald's ?speed?) forms of it. It gets Lugia into R/S... And Mewtwo, but whether that's good or bad, can't be said. |

I stopped playing Pokemon since 3 years or so, with Blue. I might give these two a shot thought.

The most players I had around with GBA's was three, so five is quite enough for me. Hey maybe the neighberhoods kids have a GBA, would be quite funny if I met someone in the game. I'm buying it just for the wireless feature, that wire have annoyed me too much. And I have it for novelty. (it's dosen't make the old link cable obsolote thought...) |

I think he means "both of these + Ruby and Sapphire" or is making a rather pointless joke. Kitten Yiffer: Jirachi has never been available directly from Fire Red or Leaf Green. The only ways to get it are from the Pokemon Colosseum preorder bonus (US), or allegedly Pokemon Channel (Europe). Deoxys, Lugia, and Ho-oh are going to be available in a way probably similar to the Eon Ticket in Ruby/Sapphire. |

I never said anything about getting Jirachi in Fire red/Leaf green. ...I never got that damn ION ticket. Missed the damn event and can't bother getting a game shark. |
