Ever seen a UFO?
UFO = Unidentified Flying Object - NOT alien spacecraft, necessarily! <_<

"If you want to go that far, a "alien spacecraft" wouldn't a UFO on your standards because the "aliens" in it know what it is."

Don't be dumb. No you're just looking for ANY excuse to craft the definition of a UFO into your own personal one.

Besides, the "Flying" in UFO doesn't refer to what the pie or baseball did in the first place. It wasn't flying per se, it was just a projectile.

to operate or travel in an airplane or spacecraft <--- That's what the "Flying" in Unidentified Flying Object means. Thus, you're wrong.

In an infinite universe full of infinite possibilities, who is to say whose perception is valid. If we put it this way, then anything in the universe flying is a U.F.O., because somebody somewhere doesn't know what it is. Also, who gets to define U.F.O.? The term itself is self explanatory. Unidentified. That pretty much covers it. If somebody can't identify it, it's a ufo.

No, no, NO! Who gets to define what a UFO is? The military does. (Any country, doesn't matter.) It's a military term used to define an object in flight that can not be identified. And no, throwing shit does NOT count. A pie, baseball, etc would not show up on a radar system.

How hard is that for you guys to understand?

Ok look. I know what you're saying, but that's not an OFFICIAL UFO. It's just an object, in "flight", that you can't identify. But using "UFO" to describe it is wrong. Because that definition is meant for something else, more specific.

I get what you're saying. However, you didn't say "official ufo" to begin with. Therefore, you failed to specify your argument, thus causing the confusion that you now see. A baseball can be a ufo, and so can cereal. An "official ufo", however, must be self-propelled and show up on radar to be officially classified.

Ok Damnit, quit acting like I'm a dumb ass I'm trying to be nice with you since your usally a cool guy.

A UFO is a Unidentifyied Flying OBJECT it doesn't have to be a fucking military based thing. If you don't believe me look it up in the damn dictionary! anything, anything that is flying that is unidentifyied is a UFO. Your definition isn't 100% correct. So get your head out of your stuck up ass and see that maybe, just maybe you are wrong.

No. You used the abbreviation UFO. That's the military term.

If someone threw someone at you, say a baseball, here's what you would say:

Right: Hey, I was just hit with an unidentified flying object!
Wrong: Hey, I was just hit by a UFO!

And it's not just limited to a radar screen necessarily. And I believe airports use the term as well but they usually will call up local military bases and check to see if the base has any aircraft flying near them.

EDIT: IDIOT!

"A UFO is a Unidentifyied Flying OBJECT it doesn't have to be a fucking military based thing. "

YES IT DOES SINCE THEY COINED THE FUCKING TERM IN THE FIRST PLACE! God fucking damn!

UFO might be more commenly used by the military but it is not a military term offically. That's why if you look it up in the DICTIONARY you just might find out what the hell it really is. What the hell is up with you? There is no need for you to get so pissed. Shit enough we could both be wrong for so reason or another. Anything can be a UFO as long as it quilifies what UFO stands for. It isn't a military term offically, it may be used by them, but they didn't claim it now did they?

"Anything can be a UFO as long as it quilifies what UFO stands for."

Wrong. For it to be official, it must be proclaimed as a UFO by the military.

"It isn't a military term offically, it may be used by them, but they didn't claim it now did they?"

Yes. And the whole dictionary arguement is stupid. The term "bogey" is a military term. But does it say "OMG THIS IS A MILITARY TERM ONLY!" in the dictionary? Heh.

EDIT: No, you really don't win.

Yes I do, because your entire argument is based on your faulty and inaccurate definition of what a ufo is. You can say it's a military term all you want, and I'm not going to argue with you. The fact of the matter is, however, that it's not an exclusive military term, and isn't defined as such.

YES IT FUCKING IS! How many times do I have to tell you that? Your ONLY source is dictionary.com

Dictionary.com! It's not an Encyclopedia Britannica we're talking about here.

Just face the facts, you're wrong. Is it going to hurt you that much to admit it?

And again, look up the term "bogey" which is an obvious term for an aircraft of unknown origin. But is it going to say "by the way, this is a military term"?

I highly doubt it. So that SIMPLY MUST mean it's not right?

No.

Take your own advice asshole. Look it up, find a DICTIONARY in your house or where ever the hell you are at. If you have the correct version of a dictionary I bet you it says something about a bogey being a military term. But if you look up a UFO it is not an offical military term. Just because you seen a movie where the "military" used it. Doesn't mean its a military term. They use it, and it may be a tern in the militarys little world. But not an official term.

Think about it genius... you lose and don't quote me and say I lose becaue then your just being a sore loser.

You're a truly a moron.

" Just because you seen a movie where the "military" used it. Doesn't mean its a military term."

I happen to be in the military genius. It's a term that Air Traffic Control has been using for many many years now.

And you didn't understand a damn thing I said. The dictionary defines what it is, it doesn't give a damn ORIGIN and complete BACKSTORY of the word/acronym itself.

And you've been warned for flaming.

I'm closing this because you have messed it up with your ignorance. Nice going.

Go to bed.
