What a complete utter waste of time that would be. Better off just watching it on the bloody news.

a) I doubt the news covers it.
b) OMG HIGH DEFINITION TV SO GOOD I SEE IT IN PERFECT QUALITEEEEEE! Grow a brain. Go outside and actually live your life once in a while. Hell it's the little things in life like this that make your life. Why bother nixxing the chance to do something like this, even if it is something somewhat 'dull', when I bet you'll be doing nothing else anyways?

There are just some things t.v. can't capture.

I'm with the guys ahead of me on this. Unless you absolutely can't go outside for it due to health reasons or whatever, do it. Don't think it's a waste of time. It's something that's naturally beautiful, and most people have forgotten about such things.

Also, Ranko, thanks for making this thread. If you hadn't, I wouldn't have known about it...and now I'm eager for the date to get here so I can see it. Where I live we have pretty clear skies and almost no city lights to bother the viewing space. So I should get a pretty good view of it

Actually the news usually covers meteor showers here... Not for a lead story or anything, mind you, but as one of those "and finally tonight..." stories.

Define which things that really are "Wast of time" please. In a way... everything is a waste of time. We're going to die anyway.

Actually if you paid some half-assed attention to my location you'll notice that it'll be daytime when this stupid shower hits inwhich i'll be somewhere. NightHawk is the only half decent person here, he's going to see it with his wife, she'll think it's romantic and he'll get laid. Good on ya NightHawk.

Colleen also has some sense. The rest of you suck!

And that kind of attitude isn't going to get you anywhere on the board, you know.

Don't act like an asshole to get attention - you WILL get it, but it's not exactly going to be the most flattering kind.

I just noticed its happening at 5PM EDT. I was wondering what time that would be in PST?

I also marked it on my calendar but I have no one to enjoy it with. I try getting a hold of my dad today since we use to always star gaze on our roof when we lived together but got no answer.

Either way, If I have to enjoy it alone or not, I'm not going to miss out on one of natures gifts.

Sure you're not confusing that with AM?

And PST would be three hours behind...so...in that case...it'd be 2PM PST. I was pretty sure that the climax of the whole thing was going to be August 12, 2 AM...but I'm not exactly sure what time zone they put it as...maybe it was a relative figure...I kinda think that something between that whole night and maybe the ones before and after it would produce something.

Prelude to this...we did have a relatively decent blue moon just a few days ago.

I would assume evening or late evening...more than likely there'll be more information available about it in a week or so...when everyone starts getting ready for it...I'd look it up but then I just got up. Might in a sec though...

...and yea...I've got to leave the next day or the day after that...since...you know...I wanted to actually do something for the big 20 mid-month.

We had a blue moon last week?

Full moon, yes... but it wasn't blue here. Trust me, I've seen some nice ones over the river.

I doubt I'll be able to see anything from a city like Montreal.

It happens! I had some beautiful moon sights but not enough, though.
