Well, it's not really ironic, but you say you'll be away until September but you post rather frequently despite that.

Hmm..my life has been boring too..sometimes! Nothing exciting happend. Usually I find irony all the time but I seem to forget as the day rolls on . Oh maybe this one..my "Icee" at school might as well just been a juice. When they give it to you, it's all watered down and doesn't look anything like the icee out of the machines.

We're probably going to go camping for a few weeks soon, though, so I really will be gone. (Yay, fun! Until you arrive at the campsite and instantly get devoured by mousquitos. ) |

Originally posted by Kirby ATW Hamburgers are named after the place they were created. I seen rated R movies on family channels everynow and again. They are usually those movies that are rated R because they alittle too much profanity for PG-13, or the theme made me a little bit more mature. Or they are canadian... I have seen 6 or 7 movies filmed and produced in Canada that had rated R ratings when they shouldn't even be PG-13... |

Which movie? Apple: We're really weird like that. Either Canadian movies underestimate or overestimate the rating - I'm sure there's been a few PG/NC-17 horror movies from Canada that really should have been rated R. |

Originally posted by LegionYep. If I correctly remember the story, there was a restaurant owner in Hamburg who'd make these sandwiches with beef, eggs (and some other stuff that I don't remember, lol) for the American sailors who were in town (this was shortly after WW2, I *think*), and when the sailors got back home, they just referred to the sandwiches as "Hamburgers", and that was that.Originally posted by kornfan |

According to my book in my german class, the hamburgers was created in Hamburg. (Germany, duh) There was a local thing called "hamburgers", a hamburger sized boiled meatball thingey. It was served on a paper plate and stuff. However, one day, one of the hamburger sellers ran out of paper plates. He saw that he had some left over bread and decided to cut the bread in half and put the hamburgers between them. However, this might just be a rumor...

I doubt it was unedited unless it was somehow an appropriate rated R movie. Maybe some curse words were edited...don't really know...I mean I've seen Demolition Man played on general broadcast TV (like ABC) quite a few times edited and that was rated R. (edited by Ranko on 07-29-04 11:40 PM) |

Yeah, usually on rated R movies they edit out the cuss words and put other types of words like kiss my butt or something else stupid . Hmm..recently I was reading something about how a few years back they would give movies worse ratings. Like that more PG-13 movies are not approaching what rated R movies were in the 90's. The Santa Clause was rated PG while the Santa Clause 2 released in 2000 was rated G and contained more unapporpriate things. Eh..I found that ironic . |
