Well, we figured out what the problem was, and believe it or not, it was cogeco working on the box out side my house. We had a cogeco guy come over to look at our computer like 2 hours ago and he said our modem was fried. It turns out that they made some kind of error while fixing the box, and everyone who had a specific modem (the one I had) had there modem fried. I don't know how that works exactly but some of my friends computers who download megabytes a second were going at like 200-300kb sec. Which is good, seeing as mine went at 230bytes sec. All is fixed, and it doesn't take half an hour to load a page. He said we shouldn't have been using the computer at that speed because of the modem or something. Oh well. |
