The Mydoom.A worm installs a "back door" on infected computers, which virus writers can use to gain access to your PC. Variants of the Mydoom worm, known as Doomjuice.A and Doomjuice.B, spread to computers that are infected with Mydoom.A. Microsoft urges you to take action to remove these worms and help keep your computer safe from malicious intrusions. Customers who have successfully removed Mydoom.A from their computers are not at risk for infection by Doomjuice.
You can download the Removal Tool from Microsoft's Homepage.

Ironic, the first thing I read after doing my monthly ShieldsUp testing.

I'll be just fine.

I've never gotten a virus. Ever.

My dad made sure I understood the concepts behind virii, and how to avoid them, before he ever let me go online with a computer (almost a decade ago now... ).

I've had them...but since I've got a firewall and McAfee on this thing (finally) I haven't been shot down by them since the last full reinstall of Windows. I've had a few attempts on my comp from a few sites but McAfee always picks it up.

Bah, I think it doesn't even affect Win98. So I'm fine (even if it would, Firewall + AV are activated)

From what I'm looking at...it seems to be a Win32 app...so I'm gonna guess that 95 systems and up are going to be affected by this...just watch your email.

McAfee's take on it.

Oh, I think I actually received it twice then. I got two e-mails, one yesterday, one 2 days ago. Both of the had no expeditor, no name, and the message was: "Error". Very weird.

Oops...I just took a look at this...the one I posted about was MyDoom.o the one that HM refers to is MyDoom.A. So obviously there's a few variants out...but apparently .o is the heavy one right now.

When someone says that people on Message Board have no life, they're worng. People that create viruses have no life.

That's for sure. People who create viruses need to figure out what's more important in life.

Never recieved an "Error" e-mail yet. I have been getting other stupid e-mail talking about "Come get free movie tickets with me" and shows a website or something. I wonder if it's p0rn

The only few viruses I got is from my sister somehow. Which are removed very quickly when I get on the computer anyway. And it's not dangerous viruses.

Never got mydoom or anything thought, I always keep my Windows up to date. And I have a virus scanner which is always active.

I've never had a virus. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't get spam e-mails... I always just delete them, so I never worry.

I have never gotten a virus in my email. Of course I rarely get anything in my email to begin with. If I don't know who it is, I just delete it. Meh.

The only virus' I ever got is from P2Ps.

I have gotten virus before, but I always got rid of them. I really try to be careful though since I don't want to go through the process of removing them again.

I'd prefer having a virus than having a computer that is hard to make it work right.

All you have to do is load up a webpage and your comp could be toast like that. Trojan'd get in via a cookie or whatever else and do whatever. It's not necessarily an email where you can get your trouble.

I uinstalled Microsoft Java from Internet explorer, Java causes alot of security bugs in IE. I of course installed Sun's java.

And Microsoft won't fix any bugs with their Java machine, SP2 deletes the Microsoft java machine as Microsoft don't support it anymore.

Hadn't got any Virus through Firefox, not saying it's impossible. But Firefox isn't implented into Windows as IE is.
