A friend of mine told me a story.

She's a budding hardcore gamer, and also happens to be quite attractive. One day, she walks into Electronics Boutique to buy some games (she's really into Tomb Raider and action games like that). She goes up to the counters, grabs three games, and goes to purchase them. At the checkout, the games total up to be about 45$. Unfortunately, she only has 35. So the guy at the counter takes a look at her, and suddenly his eyes widen as he discovers that cute girl gamers DO in fact exist. Desperately trying to hit on her, he marks down the price of the games by about 15 dollars, claiming the games to be a part of a promotional package that conveniently came into effect that day.

Now, I take her with me when I want to buy games.

Yes, impossible though it may seem this story really is 100% true. I wasn't there when she got the "discount" but I saw the receipt, and lo and behold the guy took off some money so she could afford it.

And Dracoon, your words are true, I beat her down in SSB. But how is it a bad thing on multiple levels? I think it's good that girls are capable of getting into video games, it gives all of us guy gamers hope.

I'd like to know girls like that. But not only for discounts. "Playing" is also fun.

And there, DS, is where I draw the line.

It's strange, though. For some reason girl gamers are supposed to be a rarity, yet studies show that out of the many people who play video games, in certain demographics there are more girls playing games than guys. I recall once reading that more women in their 30s and 40s play games than men. I don't think the study was well founded, but it would be interesting to see it be true.

Needless to say around here people like her are hard to find. There's just too many girls who don't play games, thinking they're boring or something like that. Ah, well. To each their own, and I suppose I should be lucky to have her as a friend anyway, it's nice having a more effeminate side to my usual cadre of gaming friends. Plus I get a new target to toss around in Smash Brothers.

She did haggle without saying anything...

Well, wouldn't be surprised if that man did pay the rest or something.

Keep in mind that alot of girls plays The sims and "online games" mostly such ones at Yahoo.

My sister is such a gaming girl, she plays more on the gamecube than ever I do.

You guys too? I'm lucky if I can get my little sister off Harvest Moon long enough to enjoy some silence. And what's worse, she's not even any good at it, she plays it constantly and just can't get it.

I did forget about "The Sims", though. My friend plays that too, come to think of it. And my older sister...

Ironically my sister plays alot of Harvest moon, but she is good on it. She is way before me. (and I seldom get to play the GBA version ;P)

We have the all The sims expansion packs in the family (mostly becuse of my sisters), I don't play it that much. But it happens that I boot it now and then and play around... but I tend to play Simcity 4 more.

If my sister gets any better with the way she is in her gaming knowledge...there's going to be no stopping her when she gets up to my age.

Course I guess she has her older sibling to look up to in that aspect...yeeep yep yep yep...

OK, so I'm the one that this post's about. Grey, no offense but you tell it all wrong. I went in... I pick up Tomb Raider 2 and the sticker says $9.99. I bring it to the register and the guy looks at me, then at the game. He reaches into a drawer and pulls out a sticker that says "SPECIAL: $5" and he goes "oh look at that... there was a sale on this game." and i saved $4. which game me enough to by the GBA tomb raider game. Which i did. and i don't believe that he charged me the full amount for that either.

Good looking girl who likes the Tomb Raider series?

Most of the staff at my local EB are female, surprisingly enough.

Yeah I know, it sounds unbelieveable. I've questioned her judgement on that subject multiple times. But like I say all the time, to each their own. I mean if I went around saying I was a fan of the Mary Kate and Ashley games, would anyone really hold it against me?

Don't answer that.

...Well, I heard the GBC puzzle game (kinda like The Lost Vikings actually) wasn't THAT terrible.

But yeah. At least you can find SOME good in the early Tomb Raider games. Plus action games along that line aren't all that bad.

Of course not! I keep telling her to try the Megaman Legends series. Trouble is, quite unlike Capcom, there's only two of them. But the voice acting makes them worth a play.

And I liked The Lost Vikings, maybe I'll eat my words and look into--- NO! What am I thinking?
