| I love the music from the Megaman X series. The GTA soundtracks are good as well. But my absolute favorite is the Gourmet Race Theme from Kirby's Superstar. It's also the battle theme for Classic Dreamland in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Just screams "Madness!!!" I'm kinda surprised, though, that nobody's mentioned DDR yet, suffice it to say there is a lot of good music for that series, it's completely music based, and within it are a few rare gems of sound manipulation. |

| Probably my favorite game soundtrack is Akira Yamaoka's Silent Hill 3. Although I like classic stuff too...like Castlevania, old school Mega Man, Actraiser, Star Fox (the SNES game, but none of the others), Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, etc. Lots of great video game music around. The SNES was a great system for great games with excellent sounding music. Can't name many songs, though for Castlevania my favorite tune would probably have to be "Wicked Child". I've always had a big thing for it. |

I'll go with the Final Fantasy here. I haven't been playing a buncha games lately since the winter of last year. I like most of the FF series music. It sounds all cute sometimes but other times it sounds evil  which is good  . I don't remember any Sonic music. You guys prolly talking about the newer ones I've yet to play  |

| I'm not really a big fan of the sonic music itself, but I absolutely love the OC remixes of it. Sonic and Knuckles: Exhilaration sounds really good IMO, it's just so well put together, and the undertones are nice and light, and it sounds so clean... That was a problem I had with OC remix, everyone seemed to love doing just techno, techno, techno, and only a few songs stood out from the rest... | |||

| Crimson Skies 2 is the first that comes to mind, as it has a jazzy theme, and a few different swing songs for when you're in air combat. Unless I'm forgetting one, every other for me has just been run of the mill. |

| The problem with OCR is that the people there are producers as much as musicians. In other words, you're generally not that likely to hear "live" instruments. VGMix is a good alternative for this sort of thing...as an aside, a lot of the people in the contest I enter every few months usually put their music up there once said contest is over. |

| Old school division: MM3. The music for Wily stages 3 and 4 = \m/. Also, the hidden track in Ninja Gaiden 2 (I believe) really sounds like something At the Drive-In might've written. And the boss music for Chrono Trigger is BEGGING to be a college (or school) fight song. Someone get to arranging. As far as licensed, the only one I would consider buying (but have taken to downloading) is Jet Grind Radio. Someone tell me where I can find more stuff by Toronto. |
