Today, we won his 6th straight Tour de France. What's the significance? No person has ever won 6 tours. No person has ever won 6 consecutive tours. The man of Texas has impressed the world, and yet is surrounded by controversy. Go Lance, prove em wrong, and show them what you are made of. Hope you do so again with 7, should you try the Tour again next year. |

I think, Lance should leave on a high note and not continue anymore. He is right now on the fence for another tour if I'm not mistaken... but anyways, congrats for him |

I love what Lance Armstrong has done as have immense respect for what he has done, having followed him closely in recent years after reading his books. Also Lenophis, I'm not sure if you did it on purpose but you are right when you say "Today, we won his 6th straight Tour". Because Lance would be the first to admit that he can't win the race alone. He relies on his team mates, his fellow cancer survivors, and of course is unwavering fan's support. I hope his new sponsors (Discovery Channel) choose to compete in the Tour Down Under, so I can see his up close. *hats off* Congratulations, Lance. Tris |

Officials from the Tour de France are saying that he won't be able to compete next year. Like, they won't allow him too. |

You shouldn't have seen the paper here today. Basically we accused Lance of being full of steroids. Toxic: I doubt it. As long as you meet the criteria to race in the Tour, they can't stop you. I think they'd like Lance not to take part, but they can't force him to unless they find a reason. "He's too good" is not an excuse. |

Originally posted by The Wrong 'Un Oops, that would be a typo on my part... I did mean to type the 'h', but you're right about what he said. As for the tour officials, let them try to stop Lance. They will not succeed, and I don't honestly see how they could. They've already broken into his hotel room (or someone did) looking for evidence of doping. Nothing, nadda, blah blah. I hope he returns for the next tour, cause he can reset the bar of endurance and greatness. Just my rambling though. |

The thing is, this drugs thing has dragged on for five years now. I shouldn't be too hard on the uninformed public, as the whole cycling profession is a bit suspect these days, but leave the guy alone. You'll believe the unsubstantiated claims that he is "pumped full of steroids" simply on the basis that he's too good. But you won't credit him for being the best prepared rider, the only one who trains all year round for this race, and is the only one who rides the entire course more than once for preparation. You don't credit him as being the best technical rider in the game, one obsessed with perfection. You don't give his credit the US Postal team for being the best and least selfish team in the world. You don't realise what surviving cancer did for his determination. You don't realise that is one of the best natural talents around. And you don't seem to think it matters that he is drug tested 30-40 times a year (from his own words), including back testing of old samples under new testing procedures, and never failed one. You don't seem to think it matters that a French judicial enquiry was held by the French government for 2 years and found nothing. It is insulting that you think he'd put something into his body like EPO, that could cost him his life, after the battles he has endured. I say, Put up or shut up |

Colleen: they said it the other day. Race officials told somebody that he might not compete. Now, whether or not ESPN can be trusted on this...we'll find out. |

And that's the only reason they COULD kick him out... but if he keeps testing clean, you can't do anything about it. As long as he's following the guidelines, you can't say that he's unable to compete. I'd think it would be a much bigger story if that was the case. |

Kicking Lance out would be saying Michael Jordan can't play in the NBA or Wayne Gretzky should be banned from NHL. |
