These riddles are the same style as Danicess used to do (wish she'd do more some time). No, you don't get anything for these, other than the satisfaction that you got it right first.

1. Bright as diamonds,
Loud as thunder,
Never still,
A thing of wonder.

2. I know a word of letters three.
Add two, and fewer there will be.

3. Lighter than what
I am made of,
More of me is hidden
Than is seen

4. I build up castles.
I tear down mountains.
I make some men blind,
I help others to see.
What am I?

5. I am, in truth, a yellow fork
From tables in the sky
By inadvertent fingers dropped
The awful cutlery.
Of mansions never quite disclosed
And never quite concealed
The apparatus of the dark
To ignorance revealed.

How does lightning not fit into that?, it's a better answer then waterfall, if you go into the blue mountains you'll see waterfalls like 5 inches high.

My guess for #4 would be sand ...

"I make some men blind," - if you get some in the eyes

"I help others to see." - glass is made of sand if I remember right, and then there's glasses

Can't say I'm sure about it though, and I don't feel like searching for the answer online

5 inch waterfalls don't make a sound as loud as thunder, lightning when it hits it DOES make a very loud sound.

If you classify all waterfalls to be as loud as Niagra Falls then you're an idiot.

Lightning n. The visible flash of light accompanying an abrupt, discontinuous natural electric discharge in the atmosphere.

Thunder n. The crashing or booming sound produced by rapidly expanding air along the path of the electrical discharge of lightning.

Thunder is pretty much a part of Lightning then, you can't have one without the other.

And plus waterfalls aren't as loud as thunder, you can't hear a waterfall from 10 km away. And plus not all waterfalls are "As bright as diamonds", I've been to many in my day and they aren't all glittery.
