| Janus sits serenely, staring at a huge, full moon, floating in the night sky on top of his satchel. The cool night air whirls around him, as he settles his mind, and prepares to broadcast his thoughts to a young wanderer among the imaginations of the universe. Janus (thinking): "So Schwa, you base your faith on the side of Virtue, Respect, and Honor. For such a young man, you've shown great wisdom, wisdom that far surpasses your age. However, I wonder how your faith can stand against my tactical techniques? Is wisdom superior to reason? Show me, and I will show you in return where I place MY faith. Your strength certainly surpasses mine, but I still wish to try my luck. So, what will it be? Stay a friend I will never meet, or show me the power of good and become my compatriot simultaneously? Perhaps I can learn something of your power, or you of mine. The choice is yours..." Janus continues floating, meditating upon his challenge. Was it a good idea? Should he really fight one such as Schwa? Neither good nor evil, Janus samples the best of both worlds. Aggression through passive activity, peace through violence, what does he fight for? He has seen more death in his days within the world of games than any human ever will, yet he fights nevertheless. Perhaps it is his nature....... |

| Surprisingly, Janus hears a voice in his head. It's a telepathic message from a teenage psi warrior, none other than Schwa. "Finally, someone who shows gratitude to us psi warriors! You're right, Janus, my faith does lie within the Living Assets. However, it's more than that. My very soul is eternally bonded with those assets, giving the soul unbelievable power. That's actually the origin of our psychic power. Since our souls are bonded to the assets that they must have to grow strong, our souls become so strong we are embraced with psychic power." A wavering shape appears close by. It slowly becomes more and more visible, until a human appears. This human wears white, loose clothes and a black blindfold. "Hello, Janus. Seems like you have a lot to think about tonight. I admire deep thought, though... So, you want to spar? I was resting about a mile away when I heard your thought directed to me. Yeah, that's an upside to psi warriors-- you can talk to us just by thinking. I'm Schwa, the psi warrior. Well, I told you a bit about myself, so... please feel free to tell me anything about your powers." |

| Janus: "The great Schwa, at last. Well met, you truly are an interesting person, one I've heard much about." "If you wish to know, my powers are drawn from a world that exists within the imaginations of the most powerful creative minds on the planet. I use these powers intelligently, in order to outwit and outclass my opponents. Thus, through reason and creativity do I gain my abilities. It is a combination of will from oneself, but it relies upon the will of others as well!" Janus sinks to the ground, and gets off of his bag, looking up at Schwa. "However, I have my qualms. In the world of my games, I see bloodshed for amusement. I believe I must fight, it is hardcoded into my head to do so, but I dislike violence with a passion, having seen the horrible effects a lust for it warrants upon humanity. So I fight for peace. I use the abilities that they would have for suffering in the name of pacifism. Hypocritical, it seems. I use violence to gain peace. Strange, but thus far it has worked." Janus' bag floats before him, sharing a mental bond with Janus, and controlled by his thoughts. A foray into psychic ability, but a power even he has yet to understand. "I'm also very fast, as you may see tonight. Shall we begin soon, or would you like to tell me a bit more about yourself?" |

| "You'll learn about me more as we battle... I hope," Schwa replies. "To battle!" Schwa holds his hands in the air, and they immediately become wrapped in firey, blue etheral energy. The ether around his hands probably means a lot of psi energy is being focused there. Schwa holds in open palm out, and energy begins to gather in that hand. |

| Janus: "Ethereal attacks, eh? This WILL be interesting." From the ground, Janus springs up at Schwa (assuming he's still in the air, if not, then springs forward at Schwa) with surprising speed, transforming his bag into a hammer in the process. As he reaches Schwa, he fires a backhanded horizontal blow, directed at Schwa's midsection in order to disrupt his charging! "Let's see how your ethereal matches up to my material!" |

| OOC: Sorry for not posting in a while, I didn't have the oppritunity... Schwa stops charging before the hammer hits him, and boom Quick as lightning, his arms move in the way of the hammer. As the hammer hits his arms, ether flares up all around them, and when the hammer moves back, the ether disappears. Schwa looks unharmed. "My specialty is defense, not offense. I focused psi to my arms to deflect damage. Well, not all damage... that would be too hard on my mental capacity. Nice attack, Janus. Now, brace mine. "Alpha Psibeam!!!" (echo effects) Schwa thrusts his palms forward and makes a curve jesture, creating an arc of lavender and silver light in front of him. Then Schwa points at Janus and the arc is flinged forward at an awesome velocity. The attack homes in on Janus. "This holy attack is locked on to your spirit, Janus. It does extra damage if the target currently has negative emotions. I don't think you have any now, but if you dodged, you might be showing fear... which would double the attack's damage." OOC: But the attack CAN be absorbed... |

| OOC: That's fine, I was out all day myself. Rocketing toward the ground, Janus tries moving left and right to dodge the attack. Seeing it zigzag along with him, he eventually gives up and holds his hammer out in front of him in an attempt to block the attack. The blast hits him full on, knocking him backwards, and causing him to drop his hammer. He appears relatively unharmed, but not entirely so. Janus: "Schwa, when you cannot die, how can you fear death? You're quite lucky I'm more spirit than flesh regardless of my current form, or else I might have been able to sidestep that with impunity. Nevertheless, that DID sting. You see, I am neither good nor bad, I fight for my own ideals, and in my mind my ideals are the most noble that they can be. That is my defense against your attacks, the belief that everything I do is right for what I want to accomplish. It's certainly not absolute, you may disagree with me highly, but it is enough to keep me going." Still on the ground, Janus concentrates for a moment, and then springs up again, even higher this time! He floats in the air above Schwa, yet it does not seem to be of his own power, more that he is hanging off of his hammer... "As long as I am near my bag, I can do things like this. From this height, any normal person would die of a fall. I, however, will not. Observe!" With all of his strength, Janus flings his hammer toward the ground, and cries, "Earthquake!!!" As he falls, the hammer falls faster, striking the ground and sending a giant cloud of dust upward. Falling fast, Janus enters the dust, and catches his hammer as it bounces off the ground, landing hard, yet again relatively unharmed, on his feet in the process. The dust cloud would allow him to hide from anyone with normal eyes, but Schwa's blindfold obviously does not allow him to rely on his eyesight. "I know you can still see me Schwa, don't consider this a diversionary tactic in the least. But the same defense MIGHT not work against what I'm about to do, just as a warning. I don't want you to get hurt, after all..." |

| "Well, if you say it may not work, I'd like you to know I have other ways of defending myself. One is teleportation, but I almost never go so low as to teleport in the midst of battle. I probably wouldn't do that. However, I did learn a few new techniques from Sensae recently that are pretty good defense tactics. Maybe I'll try those out." Schwa suddenly switches to a handstand position. Cream-colored ether is flaring up in his palms, and looks as if it is being fed into the earth. | |||

| The dust is just beginning to settle when Janus makes his move. Janus: "Here's a little modified technique of my own!" Janus begins spinning up one of his tornado attacks, but this attack is stranger than the rest. Rather than spin clockwise, which in this hemisphere would cause the dust and dirt to fly away from him, he's spinning counterclockwise, and somehow drawing the dust inside the tornado, creating an earthen storm of quickly rising proportions. Rocks and dirt are whirling around rapidly as Janus suddenly leaps out of the tornado, hammerless. With the hammer still spinning around, keeping the tornado intact, Janus sends it flying at Schwa! |

| "Wow! I figured it would still push the dust away... but then again, I've seen even stranger things before..." Schwa is still in his handstand, as ether flows into the ground. The hammer-cyclone is rushing toward Schwa, fast, but he doesn't move. Suddenly, a column of cream-colored energy streaks out of the ground, impaling the tornado. This is Schwa's attempt to disrupt it and stop the hammer from spinning. "This beam slows quick-moving objects and slightly damages living beings. I call it Psychic Earth, or at least a version of it. The effect of the attack depends on what kind of etheral energy I saturate the earth with." Schwa hopes it'll work, since Janus was obviously right about not being able to deflect a blow that size. If Schwa's Psychic Earth slower fails, Schwa will definitely be hit. |

| OOC: Honestly, I couldn't think of any other explanation for an earth tornado coming into being, I definitely have to work on the logic of that one, it's a cool move but it makes very little sense. Janus: "Nice shot!" The tornado is dispersed as the column of energy sends the hammer flying upward, and Janus pulls it back to him. He is grinning. "I knew there was more to you than just words, Schwa. You're definitely a strong fellow if you can find a way around that attack. Enough of ranged combat, though, how are you in melee?" Janus holds his hammer into a forward position, eager to see Schwa's hand-to-hand prowess. |

| Schwa smiles at the invitation. "I was hoping you'd say that." He holds his hands in the air, and they become surrounded in bright blue ether. Schwa walks closer to Janus, prepared to counter if necessary. "Be careful, Janus. You haven't seen me use this much focus." | |||

Wielding his hammer swifter than a katana, Janus dashes toward Schwa, brandishing the weapon and aiming a quick slice to Schwa's side. "Be careful yourself, Schwa. Despite how fast I'm using this thing, it's MUCH heavier than it looks..." |

| Schwa crouches before the hammer hits, and takes a direct blow. He didn't even try to deflect, but-- he still looks calm. Schwa is thrown to the ground when he's hit, but... he's only visible for 1/2 a second before he disappears in a blink! Janus feels something like a slash to his back, then Schwa appears in front of him again, on his feet. "Yeah, and I'm pretty fast when I want to be, too. I didn't teleport, I just moved so fast you didn't see me go. Takes concentration to do that, so I only do that in melee combat. That slash was my Ether Fist, my normal melee attack which does holy damage. Care to try again without being hit?" Schwa does a cocky smirk. |

| Janus: "I don't see the need to try again, since I already did. Take a look." Janus turns his back to Schwa temporarily. There's not a mark on him. "I told you I was pretty fast. I wasn't exactly lying, you know. My eyes are just as fast, if not faster, than my hands." (thinking)'Still, that was amazing... I shouldn't tell him that was pure luck that I dodged in time... I hope he doesn't try something like that again, or I might have to start sidestepping. That's hard enough as it is, but it's even worse when I've taken a beating...' "Alright, next wave!" Janus swings his hammer at Schwa, trying the same attack a second time, but this one's got a twist. At the last moment, he dips his hammer downward, and angles the shot upward, hoping to hit Schwa in the torso and send him upward. If he does, he'll execute a jumping strike that should send Schwa flying toward the ground. If not, he'll have to back off or risk being hit by Schwa's counter again... |

| Before the hammer gets to him, Janus hears a telepathic message. "Pure luck, eh? Watch out, I can read your mind when the timing's right." Then Schwa blinks out again at the very last moment to avoid the hammer, zipping behind Janus for another strike before blinking back in front of him. The timing was off, though, and Schwa wouldn't be surprised a bit if he missed by a league. He also noticed he was still hit in the side with the corner of the hammer. "Whoa, I'm losing it. I gotta get my concentration back, and fast." Then he quickly adds, "Janus, you're a pretty darn good sparring partner, I'll give you that." |

| Stumbling forward but regaining his balance from the upward swing, Janus whirls around for another quick miss by Schwa. He then suddenly loses his balance again, realizing Schwa didn't actually miss, feeling the slight burn of Schwa's holy attacks. Janus: "Read my thoughts, eh? It figures, you ARE a psychic, after all..." Janus shifts his weight into a new stance; his hammer is situated lower on his body, aimed to the right, almost as if he's holding a golf club. "You're quite good yourself, and I'd say we're pretty well matched if we haven't actually tried hurting each other. Don't lose your concentration yet though; I can't wait to see what else you can do." Janus grins as he dashes toward Schwa, aiming another upward shot. However, he intentionally lets the shot off early, throwing his hammer behind him and his feet in front of him, sliding beneath Schwa's legs. Windmilling upward from behind Schwa, he incorporates into the flashy breakdance maneuver a fast horizontal slash to Schwa's shoulder. "Let's get a little fancy, here!" |

| When Janus slides underneath Schwa, Schwa realizes that Janus is trying to get behind him and he twirls around. He should've thought harder... his maneuver trips Janus and Schwa to the ground. Schwa quickly does a frontflip and lands on his feet when he hits the ground, though. You can tell by the look on his face that he didn't even remotely expect that. "???" is his reply. |

| The windmill instead bringing him to his feet, Janus smiles at Schwa and begins shifting from foot to foot, obviously planning another attack. Janus: "Schwa, did I mention? That's my specialty, thinking of unorthodox ways to attack that people won't exactly expect. Since I tried hitting you upward before, I needed to find a better way to hit you, so I figured rather than jump over you, I'd go under you! Keeps you on your toes, eh?" |

| "Well, you've made one thing clear, and that is that we'll have to think in order for one of us to win. I love battles like that. And it just so happens that I already have a good plan." Schwa holds one palm in the air and cries, "Thunder Glider!!!" (echo effects) A blue, top-shaped platform starts to appear above Schwa's palm, getting bigger and bigger, until it's big enough to stand on. Schwa leaps up and comes down on the top, but instead of landing there, he levitates a few inches from the flat surface of the top. "Glide!" The top starts spinning super-fast, rising into the air along with Schwa. It then starts flying over Janus's head, still gaining speed while spinning. Then, out of the blue, the top starts firing lightning bolts in random directions! "Can you hit me in the air while dodging these?" Schwa taunts. Those lightning bolts must be pretty powerful looking at the scorches they leave in the ground. |
