How about changing the default font in the post window (I'm typing in it now and it uses Arial) to a monospaced font? It would help immensely when trying to set up charts and suchlike. (Should this be in the "Help" thread instead?) (edited by Heian-794 on 07-21-04 12:03 PM) |

Add a tag that defines the form font, or INPUT font. If you view the code there are similar attributes in your username and password above the reply box.

GB, I have no idea what you're talking about... ; How can one "add a tag"? Of course we can use all sorts of HTML tags in our posts, but I want the reply window to be in Courier (or MS Gothic, or Lucida Mono, etc.). Isn't that defined by the HTML code in the web page I'm viewing? Unless I told my browser to only display Courier for everything. But that would make everything other than Acmlm Board posting inconvenient. The old DES board had a monospaced font for the reply box and I really liked it. |

Check in the color schemes. One of them might have Courier in the reply form. If not, too bad.

I assume he means fixed width font like courier.... and it doesn't matter if that happens, because if the person who's displaying the page isn't using a fixed width font it will be messed up anyway.... so the entire board's default font would have to be fixed width |

I've actually done what you ask for a while ago. For Firefox, set up a userContent.css file:

Or if you use the WebDeveloper tool bar you can import a .css to be applied to every page you visit everywhere.... and turn it off and on easily |

Those are good suggestions, FreeDOS and ErkDog -- but they're beyond my PC capabilities! I guess I'll just muddle along with the regular font, or maybe paste important things in from Notepad. |
