Is there a program that allows you to record music being played as an SPC when a rom is active? If not, are there any emus that have this feature?

Open ZSNES. Load ROM.

Hit F1.

Enjoy.

Uh...Neko...X said it already.

Anyways...it's not always completely accurate though. It rips a large majority of them however...but games like Puyo Puyo (Kirby's Avalanche, uses Compile's sound engine) or Wolfenstein 3D do not rip worth crap or only rip the first not that continues in a rather annoying stream forever.

Most of the SPCs that you will EVER need are located on Zophar's Domain...though there is at least one game I would like to personally rip for SPCs (because it's a buggy ROM, most haven't tried)...

I know how to capture sound in zsnes, I'm looking to get some 8-bit tracks off of FCEU. I did check Zophar's, I was aware they had SPCs but I didn't realize so many...

NES tunes have to be ripped. There's no utility that will do it for you.

Zophar has a wide collection of NSFs available for download as well.

http://www.zophar.net/nsf/

I feel obligated to suggest my own NSF player NotSo Fatso for your playback needs ^^. If course you'll need Winamp for most NSF players (like other game music players).

If the NES tune you're looking for isn't on ZD, post what game you're looking for and I'll try and see if it's been ripped or not.

Zophars domain has a collection of rippers, including ones for NES. I'll try to use those for getting the NSFs I want. I'll use your Winamp plugin for playing them, Disch.

There are tools which aid in ripping NSFs... but I doubt there are any that will do the whole thing for you.

For your complete SPCness browser over to SNESMusic.

For Sids search for the High Voltage Sid Collection (HVSD), for NSF as above stated, there's also a collection aviable with many rips and correctly named and sorted.

For GBS (Game Boy Sound) I only know of Zophar. At the rippers out there: I really want the Soundtrack of Donkey Kong (GB).

GB Donkey Kong was an amazing game and it had some kick-ass, yet subtle music themes. The SFX was another nice aspect, they were quite humorous.
