So yeah, I was at my local Electronics Boutique yesterday buying my little sister's birthday gift (it's today), when I notice this rather striking individual at the front counter of the store, talking loudly about a Smash Brothers tournament he's going to be holding at the mall in my area. The strange thing about him, however, was his attire.

Bright red jumpsuit, stripes on the back and sleeves. Etched across the back was the word "Nintendo" in white. His pants had a Super Mushroom on the hips and another stripe running down the sides. I couldn't help but imagine the strange Nintendo Power Players shows that used to contain video gaming tips back when games were just coming out and everyone wanted to milk it. This man's outfit brought me back to days when I cursed the existence of Wallmasters, pondered the meaning of the numbers that pitchers in Bases Loaded had beneath their names, and watched my friends beat up random enemies in River City Ransom. His nostalgic abilities were astounding, even as he bragged about his skills at current games. I was in awe, and at the same time thought it was a bit lame, truly a perfect combination of nerdiness and greatness.

Forever will he be known to me as Nintendo Man.

I think that I've seen that Nintendo man, or a different one. You wouldn't be from Kansas, would you?

Geeeeez.

I praise and fear that man. Gotta love those people who embrace both the old and new generations of gaming, but as for that jumpsuit... I'd hope he made it around 10 years ago.

Kornfan: Nope, RI.

And I should have taken a picture. It would have lasted longer. Hopefully I'll see him again tomorrow when I go to register for the tournament he's hosting (I think it was sorta a promotional thing, the jumpsuit).

Yeah, I think I saw a guy like that once. He was being chased by people wearing white robes.

do you think that he's actually in some way affiliated with Nintendo or do you think he's some Nintendo freak that's played BLADES OF STEEL (great Nintendo game) one too many times?

In Sweden there is a man with the name Mario. And he have a Mushroom tattoo. Yes like that Mushroom from Super Mario bros. (I think he made a namechange)

I should look after him on the net.

I miss the old days of Video gaming, when it was soo big. :/

i wasn't in the atari days or the sega slave master days either i started pretty much with nintendo (NES) and i remember that it was about the playing but it was also about the collecting everyone rushed through the games they had so they could get some more (i relied on my parents cause i didn't have any money and i was like 8) but yeah. i had like 50 games at least. i never could beat Contra though without the 50 lives cheat.

...Why would he have that jumpsuit after playing Blades of Steel?

If anything he's probably one of those people who sent in tons of high scores and pictures to Nintendo Power magazine. Some people actually sent in multiple high scores under different names too...
