Hello! I'm working on a hack of pokemon ruby with 202 new pokemon. The problem is this: Each Spinda is diferent, so if i make a pokemon and I put it in spinda it will appear with spinda's spots. How can I fix that? If I only could erase the spots...

Funny. I was wondering the exact opposite thing: how does it render those spots in!?

I can't help, but if -anyone- figures out the spots, we're both saved.

Fiddle with the layers, they might just be sprites or another layer.

'Scuse me? I know for a fact that the two Spindas I have are displayed as single sprites. Knowing that Beauty Contest Winners' portraits are displayed with artistic filters (crayon, charcoal, paint...) I wouldn't be surprised if Spinda's spots are drawn on the fly.

Just figure out where the circles go, check the image (which, in RS-Ball and Pok

You are wrong. Each time either Spinda appeared on-screen, VBA's viewers proved that they were single sprites, spots included. I could be wrong but remember the Beauty Contests.

Why not just look for the compressed sprite in Lz77 decomp ?

I believe the MISSINGNO. of R/S is called "??" and is two question marks.

The ? before bulbasaur... i call it "no pokemon" It appears if you meet a pokemon but you have no pokemon (a typical mistake in hacks) or in the pokedex, when you have never seen a pokemon. The ???? between 251 and 277 are a mistery for me...

000: ??????????
It is MISSINGNO., only dangerous. It is seen when you send out a Pokemon but have no Pokemon and in the Pokedex, true. The first one...it's the same situation as in R/B/Y- a glitch is sent out. However, in G/S/C, there's a guard- if U get in a battle without any Pokemon, there's a white flash, and- back to the field, and you automatically won the battle! Unless you learn Assembly, you can't encode that into R/S/Re/B/Y Hacks, as GameFreak/Nintendo didn't encode that.
As for the spots...
You know how Pokepic views a Pokemon's sprites? Well, maybe the sprites are treated the same way as a Pokemon- front, back, shiny f, and shiny b images!!! And maybe they're not stored with the Pokemon, which is why none of the PictureIDs are the spots! by the way, 252-276 are all the same Pokemon- edit one and edit all! And, unless you text hacked them, they're called "?". (minus the quotes).
EDIT: One, it could also be possible the game uses ASM to render in the spots, and two: Why isn't anyone replying?? Did someone close this thread and forget to change the NEW to OFF?? 'Cause if they did, I'd like to know! Or would replying now be a bump?
