I was messing around with DesktopX, and after getting pissed off, I uninstalled it. But now, my taskbar's acting weird. I mean...when I maximize a program, instead of stopping where the start bar is, it maximizes to fill the whole screen, making it impossible to see the taskbar. I'd love to get this fixed, and I hope you guys can help me. And if it comes down to it, I'm quite expierenced at hacking the Registry...somewhat. |

Is the taskbar there when there aren't windows maximized? If not, this should be an easy fix...go all the way down to the bottom of your screen and watch for the mouse arrow to change. Click and drag the taskbar back up. If it IS there when there aren't maximized windows, then I'm stumped. |

It is there when the windows aren't maximized. Also, programs that disply popups from the taskbar (like MSN Messenger), display them from the very bottom of the screen. | |||

Hmmm. Okay, try right-clicking the task bar and hitting properties. See what's checked and unchecked...I'd guess you would want to check "Always on Top" and uncheck "Auto-Hide". |

Ahh...thank you...see, I'm kind of an idiot, and it didn't click to me that "Keep infront of other windows" was the same as "Always on top". |

Understood. I basically looked at the properties myself, knowing that mine worked how you wanted yours to, and said "Hmm...let's see which of these options might be relevant." As it turned out, I was right. |
