Now, if I heard right, this was a book first and some people are saying that the book is so much better than the movie (which I think comes out this week or the next).

Either way, I'm gonna see it.

It's the movie about robots taking over and Will Smith is the hero (yea, short rundown, I know) but there's another reason why I'll be seeing this movie:

The original source that told us the first teaser trailer for BATMAN BEGINS would possibly play with prints of I, ROBOT has returned and provided us hard proof of their claims. We have seen the evidence ourselves that Warner Bros. has struck a deal with 20th Century Fox to ship the trailer for BATMAN BEGINS with prints of Fox's I, ROBOT to theaters across the continent. I, ROBOT will begin its theatrical run on July 16, and that will also be the same day that the trailer for BATMAN BEGINS will be seen.

We have also been able to confirm the running time of the BATMAN trailer: it's one minute, five second in length. There is still no news on what imagery is contained in the BATMAN BEGINS trailer, but this should be remedied shortly when theater owners begin receiving the movie reels of I, ROBOT and view it for themselves. We are interested in reading your descriptions of the BATMAN trailer when you see it, and as always, our email form is available for you to send in your scoop.

Trailers for two other Warner Bros. films will also be spotted on movie screens, but this time they'll be running before the end of the week. Look for trailers for Oliver Stone's ALEXANDER and EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING running in front of movies playing this coming Friday. We expect all three new trailers to be made available online shortly before or after their release to theaters.

Yeah, the book was by Isaac Asimov. Seems like a good movie to me.

I'll see it one of these days. It seems like a decent movie and Will Smith is one of my favorite actors

And the movie is very different from the book. It's just... What happens in the trailer for it has nothing to do wiht anything from the book Except, you know, there's robots.

I wa already planning onseeing I, robot. Ihadn't heard about the batman trailer though. What is the new batman movie going to be about? Does anyone else get the impression that this is going to be kind of how Red Dragon was to Silence of the Lambs?

From what I understand, the robots in this movie breaks the 3 laws of robotics, which is just plain silly, since Asimov himself was the one who made those three laws. I might still see it, but I think the whole thing seems a bit odd.

But doesn't it make sense that Asimov would make the laws? If the robotss were set to govern themselves, wouldn't it turn out horribly? Just look at early man, before civilation.

If the three laws wernt broken then we'd have a pretty crappy movie. So Im ok with it. After wondering about I,Robot Ive come to an interesting conclusion, look at this list I made, its pretty much a "time-line" of sorts.

I,Robot
Matrix
Matrix-Reloaded
Matrix-Revolutions
Sleep Over (Just kidding)

i think it looks like an awesome movie and i'm planning on going to see it...i'm just curious though if the book and the movie have any relavance to the song I, Robot by Coheed & Cambria which is a song that is broken up over their 2 released albums...

"The Second Stage Turbine Blade" (2002) - I, Robot
"In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3" (2003) - 2113 (bonus track)

check them out and maybe you can draw some conclusions. the lyrics to these songs can be found at:

Anya: Don't see it. Please. It's a really bastardized version of the book and if you were to read the book, you'd know why.

Book: Reporter is getting stories from the head of US Robotics that had happened with several models of robots, including a robot with his own religeon and a mind reading robot.

Movie: Will Smith fights an army of robots that has the same name of a robot in the book, but doesn't have the same functions.

Please read the book before seeing this movie.

I, Robot is a story about how the robots are evolving and how mankind should deal with this new form of life.

The movie (I'll probably see it anyways) is about Will Smith being paid big bucks to do the I, Rapbot music video.

It's like the movie Troy, or Arthur. BASTARDIZATIONS...

Kahunah, I really, really hope that you're not implying that these items are related to some crappy ass band's songs...The band lifted the name from the brilliant Asimov book.

Sion...Why do I hate you for that?

well firstly, sorry to hear you don't like Coheed & Cambria EvillerLegion, because a number of people have complimented them on their music including George Strumbolopolous from MUCH Music and even Getty Lee from Rush...two people who i think would know a thing or two about music.

secondly, i was just curious if the songs and the book/movie had anything to do with each other. like Coheed & Cambria's writer Claudio Sanchez was maybe inspired by the book or something and wrote a song on it.

Live in Whitby, eh?

Go see some real music at the Banting Ave. Polish Hall in Oshawa on Tuesday.

Also, George from Much music is paid to say things like that. Anyone who says that Slipknot is a heartfelt band is a corporate slag whore.

i've been to the polish hall before...super nova band wars was held there a few years back. who'se playing there? and sure i'll go check it out i'm always up for anything musical.

and for coheed the last defending thing about them that i'll say is that they are an awesome band and they are still pretty much an underground thing. not too many people know of them so it would be pointless for a corporation to take interest in them as no money is there yet. for george i dunno whether he gets paid to say it or not but he's a firm believer of getting bands known. he is also very selective of the bands that he endorses.

on a side note...earlier today i went and saw I, Robot and it was pretty good if you like action and what not. if you go to see it take it for what it is and don't read into too much or compare it with anything because it'll be ruined fast.
