| Background info: This story is set in 1931, at the height of the crime wave during the "dirty thirties." There are a few main sides to this story. ECPD, the Ellerson City Police Departmen, defenders of truth, liberty, justice, and perhaps a nice slice if you know what I mean. The Fazolli Gang, a tough group of Italian immigrants who don't take nothing from nobody. They have set up shop in a bakery on the east side of Ellerson. They are new to the town, and face a hard climb to get to the top of the underground network. (basically the anti-heroes. like the Corleone's in the Godfather) Risotti Family, the local leaders of the mob here. They have heavy influence on the PD, govenor and the judge. Quite wealthy, and ruthless. Other factions may come into play at a later time. Also, on Ellerson itself. It is divided into 4 sections, north, south, east, west. The North and west sides are residential areas, and the south and east are for industry and commerce. All government buildings are in the east side (ie PD, FBI HQ, town hall, etc). ------------------------------------------- Story start: Tommy Fazolli sat in the office in back of his bakery, contemplating his possible options. He had just moved in after he was run out of Chicago on a rail, and set this little shop up with the little funds he had left. He had heard the stories about the Risottis, how they had ruthlessly taken control of the town, using the Ellerson City Police Department as their backing. He could slowly gather information and forces, and attempt to dethrone them using force, or he could go with the back roads, building large legit businesses, making ties with politicians, and try to incriminate their family. With his consigliere (counselor) coming to talk business with him, he sat back and thought about his plan. |
