Are yousaying that they were saying that people went around and stuffed kittens into bottles? I don't even like cats, and I think that's some pretty sick shit.

Yeah. Google "bonsai kitten" and you'll see how sick it truly is.

well i just got this in an e-mail and this is UNBELIEVABLY FUCKING GROTESTLY DISGUSTING. i think people who post stuff like this on the internet should be honestly wiped from the gene pool as there's no reason for it. Also there are little kids EVERYWHERE on the internet now a days so things like this and porn should be made extremely difficult to access if not taken off the internet.

also i don't care if its real or not i think that the internet isn't a place for this kinda stuff. not to mention that it got randomly sent to my e-mail...i could be a 6 year old kid using hotmail for instance.

and not only that is there any action that we can take towards banning stuff like this?

BEFORE YOU LOOK AT THE PIC: what is on it is an asian girl in a tub with like i guess explosive diareah that is like splashing on her face its fucking gross.

WARNING: this is absolutely gross and disgusting. if you have a weak stomach don't look at it.

actually...on second thought i won't post it here for everyone to see as i can see some sort of punishment possibly resulting from this. if you'd like to pm me to get it ok but yeah...i dunno i just think something should be done about that kinda stuff cause its wrong on SO many levels.

That's called censorship. China has that. You know, communists.

Let's pretend the US got some incredibly whack president. (Yeah, I know, "as opposed to what". Even more whack.) Let's say he wanted to ban all ROM hacking sites. Let's also say he did that. That's censorship. That's as much censorship as wanting those pictures banned. If you're for banning those pictures but against any other kind of censorship, you are a hypocrite. Congratulations.

I saw that a few months ago; some troll on another board (www.aceshardware.com) posted some disgusting porn links disguised as links to articles under discussion.

He was IP banned within about 5 minutes of the admins noticing what he was doing; all I have to say about that is: GOOD RIDDANCE!

Nothing on the internet can be banned, anyway. Ever hear of the fact that the US/UK/any other country doesn't own the internet? Unless it's a worldwide agreement, nothing on the internet can be banned, no matter how immoral it is.

That was directed to Kahunah.

Yeah the openess is a both good and bad thing... unfortuantly it's hard to stop the bad things becuse of how the internet works. (i'm talking about spam)

On the other hand countries who have censorshop (China, Cuba, North korea,) dosen't have very much freedom on the people. I rather want a free internet than a restriced one.

would that be the same thing as you are ok with j-walking across a street because you are too lazy to walk to the lights but you are against rape and murder? they are both in the law...to do one is just as bad as the other right? obviously not but if you do that you're esentially a hypocrite too!. i agree that some forms of censorship are too much and its hard to say ok well where do we draw the line. but shit like that needs to be censored and the line needs to be drawn there.

The problem, Kahunah, is that the line is NEVER "drawn". Politicians will ALWAYS redraw the line whenever it suits them (meaning they think it'll help them get re-elected).
While I agree that crap like that is bad, censoring it isn't a good idea (and as others have pointed out, censorship is almost impossible on the 'net anyway).

*sigh*

we need an ideal form of government...where what the people REALLY want they REALLY get and minorities have a say too (cause in democracy only the majority get a say in what happens)...but thats neither the place for this post nor will it ever happen so...

You are a fucking moron that disregarded my reply. Disregarding any of my replies that are targeted at you entitles me to call you that. Let me REPOST THAT.

See that? That means that there is no central power that controls the internet. The US can't pass a law on the whole internet, only sites that are hosted here. That's why the RIAA can't sue file-sharing companies in other countries; the have no POWER in other countries.

Edit: Whoops, quoted the wrong post.

EZ THERE BUDDY...

i disregarded it because there's always legal technicalities everywhere and loopholes that lawyers can nail people with. the internet might not belong to anyone but i'm very positive that if a bunch of countries collaborated together to get it banned if not drastically reduced they could. they can shut down the hosters of those sites as the host companies have to be grounded in a country and should that country pass a law banning that stuff then it would get taken down. the problem with that though would be in getting the countries to do it like the US is a HUGE contributor to that shit and i'm sure that Ampsterdam is as well not to mention Japan. if you got those 3 to do it you'd effectively eliminate 60% of the porn on the internet today.

The one thing I would pick if I had to to eliminate from the web would be child pornography, but even then, I won't. Why? Because it's attacking the wrong problem. Either you can put the offenders in jail or you can draw more attention to it by blocking access to stuff like that. Of course a lot of effort are being put on both, but I'd rather have all effort put on the former.

First, it's spelled Amsterdam. Second, you're really referring to the Netherlands. Third, you seem to take whatever falls into your mind as fact. Fourth, these things are usually presumptions or just total bullshit. You can't back this up in any way.

And finally, no matter what measure is taken - blocking access or removing it from the source, it's essentially censorship. Blocking access is much more so however because the Internet is supposed to be a free medium. You are free to put up anything there as far as you abide by the laws of the host country. That's as close to free as we're ever going to get. And frankly I strongly doubt goat.cx, tubgirl or any similar site was outright breaking any law. Just because it's not comfortable, "indecent" or doesn't suit your tastes it doesn't mean it's illegal.

Indeed.
I think that's probably the simplest, and easiest to understand way I've ever seen it stated.

its true i guess that i can't back it up but i know that what i said might not be fact BUT its a good guestimation man, seeing as though almost every porn site i've ever seen is contains content from either of those three countries.

It contains content from those three countries, or says it does? Is it actually HOSTED in those three countries?
