What sports or activities are you gooda at?

Sports: I am good at baseball and I've been playing for 8 years. I've been pitcher since I was 9 years old and occasionally I played shortstop. I am a good running back in football and I played for 4 years. I played tight-end the last season.

Extra Activities: I reached to the rank of Cadet 1rst Lieutenant in Army JROTC and became company commander on my final year. I quit due to the company's low grades and hazing disorder.
I am a 2nd Degree Black belt in Twae Kon Do, Green belt in Tun Soon Ryu, and Yellow belt in Aikido. I won 2 junior nationals and 12 state (4 consecutive).

Other activities: I love art in general. Most of my friends know me by this talent.
I have won many competitions

Sports: Well, I'm good at football and wrestling. I don't wrestle anymore, because the prospect of rolling around on the floor with sweaty guys in spandex just doesn't appeal to me. When I play football, I usually play either middle linebacker, or defensive end.

Extra activities: I used to be involved in Karate, but I quit.

Other: I love to play drums, and to draw. I play drums in one or two bands currrently, and I recently designed someones tatoo.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I also used to play soccer, and was also a goalie. Not a very good one I might add. I had this problem with stepping too far behind the line when I was kicking the ball away.

I stopped being one when we lost in division's final. We were the #1 team but then got beaten. CRUEL FATE. And I like to reproduce what I saw on TV(But one day, when I jumped to get the ball, I hit the goal's metal structure with my head...ouch).

Can you post some of your competition-winning art? I'd like to see if it's as good as Kawa's

You can consider that done...
http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=4163

I would'nt call these particular pieces 'award winning' (since I've never entered these in competition) but if you'd like to say that for yourself, go ahead .
See what you think!

Hmm..

Sports: Every once in awhile I play basketball and can actually make shots . I play tennis..okay kind of a beginner though. Softball I like because I can hit the ball and I felt special when people picked me to be on their team (prolly cause I was one of the only girls who could hit the ball at a good distance and stuff)

Any other activities: Uhh..I have a keyboard and I'm going to attempt to play it. I can't tell if I have any talent..YET

Sports: I'm not a huge sports player, but I'm pretty good at dodgeball.

Extra Activities: I too have a keyboard and am currently teaching myself to play it by playing Ocarina songs from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Other: According to my friends, I'm the undisputed champion of 2D platformer games. I'm a pretty good writer, I write a lot of pretty funny stories. I can draw robots better than anything other than real-life sketching and sometimes chibi.

Then why would you do it in the first place? Goodness, the ridiculous manner in which some people bash such a demanding sport is sickening.

This thread appears no more than a showcase for one to brag about oneself, though such an outlet is good once in a while . Allow me:

Last year, as a 183-pounder wrestler, I posted a 20-7 record, placed third in the district (though I'd been seeded at the top), and was recognized on the First Team in the league and Honorable Mention in the county. Be aware that this was in the 215-pound weight class; very few of my regular season matches were in the 189-pound division, though I was more suited to it size-wise.

I've achieved at least one 150+ save season as a soccer goalkeeper, possibly two (though I haven't kept close track of either). I've had at least one 30+ save game. Naturally, my team is atrocious - how else would I garner such statistics? Unfortunately, those huge numbers are still lonely without a single "W" for all of my games played .

I managed a 1370 on my first attempt at the SAT, as a junior. Not incredibly impressive, perhaps, though I was satisfied by the 750 on the test's verbal component out of a possible 800 points. However, I'd have liked it to match my 77 verbal grade on the PSAT I'd taken as a sophomore (~770 SAT grade).

I fancy myself a fairly proficient writer, having been published in the (admittedly uncontested) school literary magazine, and being named Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper. I look to attend Bard College, or a similarly respected writing school.

And, through it all, I've retained a firm faith in God. That's a talent in itself, I'd say, considering the myriad temptations in this modern world. My belief is not as unwavering as I'd wish, and I am indeed far from sinless, but I take immense pride in my personal creed.

So, there you have it. I'd love to read some more of these...c'mon, let's hear it!

Edit: Wow, look how long that is. I feel like such a heel, comparing my monster to everyone else's concise list .

Sports-wise, I'd probably be owned in any and all (well, at least the strenuous ones where I'd actually have to...you know...move a lot), I was always -the guy picked last- growing up in school.

Nothing too impressive outside of that, I mean I've been told I'm a decent writer via SF (I just write long amounts that make somewhat coherent sense and I'm suddenly given that role, go figure) which is ironic because my reading skills and comprehension are horrible. Intelligence, I think, was the only thing I had going for me in high school, even though I didn't really come close to genius level at all it wasn't like I was dumb either. So graduating fourth in high school I guess could be considered a use of that 'talent'.

I've also been dropped with a rep with advice-giver. What? So I listen to people's problems and don't always tell them what they want to hear. It's not hard if you don't mind people blabbing to you occasionally about something gone haywire in their life and being honest about it. I guess that could be constrained as a 'talent' as well...

Gaming-wise though, ho boy, you get me in the retrogaming stuff, the competive stuff, most times I bomb most people (not all the time, but most times)...and I'm not saying that to be egotistical (actually I am) but I've taken a ZSNES tourney here in '02...they all remember it...they all ph34r me because of it. But seriously, it's something I enjoy in my free time, and it's a nice bonus if you really whomp someone's ass...even more of a nice bonus if you teach someone a game and get them up to a decent level (I've done that for a few people). Same thing for writing (and occasionally reading, fics mostly, hard to hold my attention on anything else), something I do in my free time, something I do to pass the time.

Go finger work...my SM skills still suck at really really hard stuff.

Hmm... For sports, I'm a decent but not spectacular rock climber, likewise for kayaking, and once more for downhill skiing.

Music is my real talent. I'm in two semi-professional bands, one traditional Irish and one alt-rock group. I write songs when I get a chance and just play covers when I'm not inspired to write. My rock band made it to the provincial finals of the Battle of the Bands this year, and next year we hope to take it a step further... but we'll see when that comes!

Miscellaneous stuff... I'm fairly mechanically gifted, at least when it comes to building/repairing stuff that doesn't require teaching to fix... i.e. I can build electric guitars, assemble trailers, and fix broken canoes, but I can't repair a car engine or do work on circuit boards.

And I'd love nothing more than to break 1500 on the SAT. However, it sounds almost as if he thinks himself nothing more than a high score on a standardized test. Certainly it isn't difficult to think up somethin' else.

And I thought my 1460 was impressive. (SMITE)

Well, I got cut from my old high school's men's volleyball team in its first season as an official intermural sport. But they won the class title. I also played soccer for eight years, moving all over the field. Mostly a midfielder, but did my best at forward. Only time I scored a goal (a cheap tip-in during an 8-1 blowout win), but got screwed on a shootout (I was good at penalty kicks) because the field and, consequently, the goal was smaller than usual. (Goalie goes low and right, I go top shelf and left. Ball hits the bottom of the crossbar, goes straight down, and bounces away.) We lost in the title game (the shootout was in the quarterfinals) that year.

And I'd TOTALLY play pro dodgeball, too.

Umm, actually I don't have many talents. In fact, none that I can think of off the top of my head. Wait, I am good at knowing random bits of trivia. But definitely not at conversing. Which is why my posts are almost always pretty short.

I will abide by funny cultural laws, and refrain from bragging about myself in this thread. One of the biggest cultural differences between America and Scandinavia is how it is ok to brag about oneself in the US, while it is frowned upon if you do so in Scandinavia. I had a really hard time when I was in the US a year ago, because people sometimes felt me too modest when I wouldn't say nothing good about myself, while to me it would feel rude to praise myself. For more info on this cultural phenomenon, read up on The Jante Law.
