But you're only 15. At that age you're not going to find that many places that will hire you - and if you do, then it'll likely be at a restaurant.

Yeah. I'm probably gonna get a job with one of my dad's friends doing construction. He's just gonna say that I'm sixteen.

It's not so much the work experience thing - it's how they view you as a person. Maturity, extracurricular activities, and all that stuff.

On the off-chance you see someone at 15-16 working as a cashier or something along those lines, it's likely that the employer picked him/her because of a good interview/attitude. Or he/she's related to the boss.

Colleen: The standard for cashiers here in the US is 16. Anything under that, and you have no chance of even being hired at a Gamestop.

Unless you had friends there.

Not even if you have friends there. Company won't hire anyone under 16.

once you are 16 its not to hard to find a job because thats when you are legally (in Canada anyways) allowed to work. at 16 i got my first job (i delivered news papers before that and refed soccer games but i don't consider those as jobs) and it was in a Price Chopper in the meat department.

minimum wage which was at the time $6.85/hour (in Canada). wherever hires you won't pay you anything but minimum wage ESPECIALLY if it's your first real job.

Minimum wage varies depending on the province, actually. It's $7.45 in Quebec, but only $6.00 in Newfoundland for example.

Cymoro - Didn't know that they had age restrictions in place for that... But you'll always find some 15-year olds at little mom/pop convenience stores.
