Sometimes here in Ottawa we get random power outages becuase of this like freak thunderstorms. Yesterday July 1, on Canada Day, we had a huge hail/rain storm when everyone in the city was watching the parades. It flooded the streets and I was under a little canopy when it happened so I didn't get too wet. But I saw people falling into the gutter and getting swept away in the little "current." Then there was a big power outage after about 2 hours when it stopped. Alot of trees had been struck by lighting too. 6 were severely injured.

I live in Henderson, Nevada. Nothing EVER happens here.

Other than that time it rained a lot. We got a few [yes, just a few. Mabye 4.] inches of rain. A record.

I hate it here.

I was in one of the worst hurricanes ever, in 1992, when Hurricane Andrew hit South Florida. I lived in a trailer park back then and we had lots of pets, and we couldn't take them with us when we drove, what normally would take us 2 hours, but took 4 hours, to get to my grandmothers to hide away from the storm there. I was so worried about my pets, it was all that I could think of. Below is some more info on Andrew.

I've been through other hurricanes and tropical storms, seen green lightening before, torrnados from a far (really freaked out by those), but that hurricane was the worst, me thinks, that I have been through.

Thankfully, my home was still there when we got back. Even though while we were driving back, we had our doubts.

Hurricane Andrew was the most destructive United States hurricane of record. It blasted its way across south Florida on August 24, 1992. NOAA's National Hurricane Center had a peak gust of 164 mph

Let's see...

Once it flooded real bad. A few feet of water downtown.

That's really as bad as I've ever seen...

Errr... All I have to say is 3 hurricanes and a tornado, and I think youll get the picture.

Thern theres the time where lightning struck right across the street. You could -smell- the burning whatever it was.

Never been in one of those and it's one of the main reasons why I won't visit California.

Hail. It usually isnt scary, but when it is Grapefruit size it can be. Imagine being in a Walmart Supercenter with a bunch of skylights. You are there to get out of the rain and hail. Suddenly glass comes falling down on your head along with hail and rain. Yeah, bad.

Amarillo. It was all over our news. The south end of town has a lot of car lots, none of the those cars the next day had glass in them anymore. Eh, I got a little cut up.

So why didn't you just dive under something? Those things typically have two or more floors, so getting under an escalator or going in to any section wtih an actual roof wouldn't be hard. At least, you'd think it wouldn't...

Yeah, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be after the glass broke. I mean, hanging around under the skylight seems kinda dumb :p
