| I've seen people with a bigger user picture (avatar), and I was wondering how I could get one,... do I need an Admin to change this for me? I was messing around with it, and got it to change it's vertical size, but then the picture itself wouldn't show up (the box with the "X" was bigger). It's resized to 60 in width. So if you're a moron for instance and set the board logo as your picture: You get that. Nice and small, I guess. However, if you use one that's larger in height than width:  [stolen from Surlent, only one I could find offhand]Viola. Usually they're 60x60 (generally prefered), however you could have one that's, say, 60x100 and you'll see exactly the same way [width is already sixty]. So, in short, just find the image you want to use, resize it to 60 x NN and use it. Don't bother trying to use height and width. It won't work.  |

Xk is right. A smaller avatar than 60 px in width also is not recommended since the board extends it to 60 in width; I tried it with the uber-cute  Riza sprite once and the result was not good at all. Try it, the tiny sprite looks fine in profile.php, but then go inside a thread  So resize the sprite to 60 px in width before putting it here by hand  As for bigger avatars: People who have a custom title actually CAN use images bigger than that size, since there also goes stuff like < |

It IS resized right... Since the original pic is 120x120, the proportions are still correct in 60x60.  He could have resized it himself for a "smoother" look, but then you wouldn't be able to see the big version in his profile... |

| Um, thanks people for calling me a moron and telling me that the picture size is redused to 60x60 pixels (if I didn't know that already, I wouldn't be asking how to get a bigger one). No hard feelings though, just take a look at This Thread, and take a look at Jarukoth's and Kiwibonga's Avatar. The're bigger vertically. | Why do you need a bigger avatar? When I look at a thread, I usually look at the posts, and for people on shitty computers, anything past 60 in width could cause them to scroll sideways, so no. | |||
