| Yes, best ROM hacker would be a good idea. But I can see why it's forgotten. Once a thread got closed down by one who had no idea what it was, Acmlm revived it as he saw it in the trash can and wondered why it was trashed. | Best ROM Hacker is a good idea but... the voting might end up being skewed since some really good hackers aren't well known on the board. And people are, you know, lazy at checking other people's work out.  |

| Yeah, best ROM Hacker would seem to be a natural choice. As for staff being unfamiliar with ROM Hacking, it doesn't surprise me THAT much...90% of the board isn't familiar with it, after all. I personally came here just because it was the source for Kiwibonga's old board, for instance. |

| Yeah, as you say now... I thought about making a "do you actually hack ROMs" poll a while ago, but I somehow dropped the idea. But, imho, that is no problem nor an insult to the board's intentional orientation as long as some level of "professionality" is kept up in the actual ROM hacking boards. In fact, the plurality makes the board a lot more interesting. (And also works on "recruiting" new romhackers) As for category addition, I would recommend to replace some of the categories with new/better ones, to keep up the w00t number of 50. For instance severe crap like "Suave". I doubt that more than 10% of the board know what you mean by that (I belong to the other 90%, despite I pretend to know it is Spanish for either "dry" or "sweet" (edit: not both at once. one of them, I'm just unsure which. just wanted to prevent any misunderstanding at this)). | Then I could be counted as one of the few ROM hackers on this board then. I joined becuse of ROM hacking, and the fact I knew about Acmlm board for ages... becuse of his hacks. Started again with it recently, but if it goes as before... I never make a release.  |

My memory is garbage, therefore I can't exactly remember what he did... as for me, the vote would go for BMF (Neko). He did a lot of w00t things in the past, although he seems also kinda changed recently... |

| His hacks are at http://dahrkdaiz.panicus.org/cgi-bin/index.pl, a site called Dahrk Hax. Though I agree that Fusoya and BMF are also damn good. There are probably other hackers out there that are similarly accomplished on DES and TEK but I don't participate over there as much. |

| I joined because of the ROM hacking... and within a couple months of that, I'd nearly forgotten about the hacking, and I got stuck on the rest of the board. I still pop by the ROM hacking forum in case someone asks a question I can answer... but otherwise my time is spent in other sections of the board. |
