| GAH!! I start a new job on Monday. I'll be working in a Help Desk for the education department, in the city. I'm really looking forward to it. There's just one problem. Wednesday, I got a little bit of a sore throat, and by Wednesday night, I was headachey, dizzy and otherwise unwell. I thought it was a cold, but when I went to the Doctor yesterday (thursday), no such luck... I have tonsilitis! Aaarrgghh! Now I'm panicking cause I want to be well in time to start work... I'm on a course of antibiotics, but... eee.... *panic, worry* So, I was kinda wondering... anybody else here had tonsilitis? How do you rate my chances of being able to work in two and a half days' time? *panic, worry* |

| I still have mine, actually, but from what I heard, you should be fine in about half of a week. I'm sure your new job will understand why you might have to start working a bit early. And drink lots of orange juice if you can.  |

I still have my tonsils too, but my mom had hers taken out, and so did one of my friends. For my friend, it made his voice lower, and my mom, it made her voice higher. I guess results vary amongst people. Of course, you don't need tonsilectomy (that's a big fancy word for taking them out), because recently, they found out you don't need to have them out. Some antibiotics will cure it. Too bad I can't say the same for your appendix.  And YES, I still have my appendix too. |

I rarely get sore throats these days.  Still have my tonsils but they're not causing me any problems and I don't wake up feeling as if I want to crawl into a hole and die... so it's all good. You should be FINE, Taryn. I never had a sore throat or anything that lasted that long. If anything you'll just be getting over it and it won't be as bad. |

| Eating a LOT of really cold things helps too, if you're hurting. When I got my tonsils out, I always ate a lot of popsicles. The red ones rock. But also, cold water helps a lot too, since you can swallow it much easier than a popsicle. Keep ice in it, and heck, chew up some ice too, the important thing is to keep the swelling down with as much cold stuff as you can. |

I don't think I need my tonsils out, and to tell the truth, the pain in my throat is not the worst thing about my tonsilitis -- what's getting to me is that it's making me feel dizzy and headachey.  Two days to go. I can get better between now and then. I hope!! o.o |

I've had a sore throat several times, and after each one my friends' noticed my voice get deeper.. don't think I've had tonsilitis. Either way, whenever I have a sore throat, my mum makes me Chrysanthenmum Tea.. not sure if it works =) |

| Jesus, I hate having pain the throat. Especially if it feels when you swallow stuff. I seldom be sick, but when I am sick... I get very sick. Whenever I have sore throat, I drink alot of sour milk. It also relives the pain some... at least for me. |
