Well, it finaly happened. I got myself off my crappy three year old, spyware and messed up files infected dell desktop. Now I got me a new laptop that is mad crazy. It's a 15.4" widescreen with a gig of ram, 60 gig 7200rpm harddrive, 128mb ATI radeon graphics, and a 3.2 gig P4. It's bright yellow in case, which means that nobody will be able to steal it from me without me knowing cause it looks unique. Also, it's got a great wireless connection that is hella fast. Before I had 56krap, now I've got highspeed from my kind neighbors. Well, I'm just really juiced about the system so that's why I posted this.

Oh yeah, it's a batallion 101 S series from http://www.ibuypower.com if you're interested.

While this would've worked better in hardware/software... eh.

Don't be suprised if I steal it. I'm still using an almost 7 year old POS I dubbed the TrashCan 300.

Hmm...maybe the reason why he posted it here was so that people would respond because everybody on the board visits this forum but not every on visits the HW/SW forum...

At my father's comic store, his computer is 9 years old. Our home one is only 2 years old. I'm suprised how fast it became "obselete", really.

Mine is 4 years old yet has a 19 Gig Hard Drive. Still, I suppose yours doesn't crash on a regular basis like mine

Mines about 4 years old, my parents knew nothing about computers and I wasn't around at the time so the kind people at gateway gave them a crap ass over priced celeron machine.
Ive upgraded it a bit but its still crappy, lol id do nearly anything for a laptop like that but im poor as hell at the moment.

I absolutely hate Dell so damn much. I complained a bit about RDRAM in HW/SW earlier, but I'd like to blame Dell regardless of my bad purchase. Their "custom built" computers are nothing more than limited options with already crappy parts. Crappy motherboard, crappy RAM, crappy graphics card, crappy sound, hell the first thing I replaced on my computer was the mouse.

The best part of it all is, it's only a year and a half old. I'm upgrading the second I get the money. Good work Guru, it's nice to see people escape from the Dell Pit. Is it custom built?

Hmm... I'd really love a laptop to myself. I could get one for Christmas, but that would take up a large portion of Xmas goods. No way I'm saving up for one. What to do?

When my next birthday rolls around we'll see. Not 'til April though

I don't think that mine is the worsee, but it's probably pretty far up there. Let's just suffice it to say that It's about seven years old, rebuilt, with about ten to fifteen year old parts. I get on it, and the screen squints at me constantly. I attempt to go into something to mess with display settings, and what do I get?

Didn't realize there was a hardware software forum. Anyways, the graphics card is a Mobility Radeon 9600. And playing games on a 15.4" widescreen anywhere you want to is not that bad at all, especially if the game has specific widescreen resolutions. And I know what you mean about Dell, everything they do is crazy wrong. I tried to trick out their XPS laptop (or whatever the hell it is) and it couldn't get to what this was and it cost 5000+. Also, they have terrible customer support and their desktop layouts inside are terrible, random metal bars to hold cards in place with screws that are imposible to reach with most standard screwdrivers (I ended up taking a random piece of metal to unscrew that mother). Down with Dell, Gateway, and the like with their overpriced POS.

How do you fail to realize there's a specific forum for something? Only way I can figure is to just not look v_v

I got a new computer today as well. It's a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop. It's pretty cool at the moment, but it needs an updated Windows Media Player.
