Whenever I open a document in photoshop that isn't a .psd, the image is very dark. But when I open it in a simple picture viewer, the light is there. This also happens when I paste an image into a document. This did not happen before. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

i'm not sure what is going on...maybe there are color issues in the way you have installed photoshop. You could try reinstalling photoshop again and when it asks you about setting color, just leave it the way it is. Otherwise, this is the first case i've seen of such a problem. |

Yeah, it sounds like a calibration issue to me - like neotransotaku mentioned, Photoshop has its own color settings, and if those aren't quite right, your files will look funny. (I'm not sure, but I think PSD's might save some extra color info, which would explain why they display correctly.) I have to leave in a couple of minutes, so I can't research this at the moment (sorry), but I'd guess that there would be a way to recalibrate Photoshop's color settings without having to reinstall it.

Get the same issue with Adobe PS 7.01...it says it's one color but if I check it in HTML the picture always seems to be darker. Like with this layout...I had an HTML figure to go with my background and it was too light...so I have to do a little guessing to get it right (came out something -02, -01, -02, from the HTML). |

Sorry, maybe I should have mentioned that I had it fixed after neotrasotaku posted. I reinstalled it, and it couldn't locate a .dll file that had to do with color. I simply downloaded the file and I was set to go. |
