Soo, now that it's summer and all. We go out every once in awhile. When I went to the river a few weeks ago my uncles, girlfriends, daughter only sun burns and never tans. I'm guess she just has very sensitive skin. Her sister on the other hand well I think she tans better than burns. I'm guessing my dad burns more often because just in one day with his right arm driving around he got a sun burn . I was out playing in the little lake and stuff and I didn't get burnt so it just got me wondering. Do you tan more often or burn?

I haven't ever got a sun burn..well that I can remember in all my 16 years (approaching 17 ). I need a tan in a few places so I'm not naturally brown all over mwhaha if you guys wanted to know I think it's just from being out and then some places are just darker than others..or something

I burn and tan. Every summer I will burn instead of tan, but then those burns turn into tans. I should be careful both sides of my family have skin cancer running though it.

I'm on fire as it is.

Usually I turn into extra-crispy after about an hour but since it was overcast the day we went to Wet'n'boring...

My skin can take alot of sun, I get brown very easily and I have only been sun burnt once in my life. And that was on a day I was outdoors all the day biking, and I wasn't badly sun burned. Just slightly.

There hadn't been so much sun here this summer...

I don't usually put on sun tan lotion did. That day we went camping at the lake was one of the first times . I don't know if it helped anything but maybe it'll help me from getting skin cancer. I could have it already Anyone could I guess

Burn, definitely. I get sunburnt all the time, but not badly. Just "lightly toasted" if you will.

However, there was the one time I got second degree burns from the sun. That wasn't fun at all...

Depends...

Right now I'd probably say I'd burn to death...but if you gave me a week of being outside a bit more than I'm used to...I'd probably start tanning.

Roasted. I just drove from Cleveland to Columbus (about 2 and a half hours) with my top down, and I forgot to put sun screen on. So, when I got there, my arms were red (with a crazy looking line where the sunburn ends), and my face was toast. Boo for sun poisoning.

Oh yea...and I find it funny when it's not sunburn but it's wind burn. You know...like you're out for a few hours and you're out in freezing temperatures and you get red anyways? That always sucks.

I rarely burn, and tan easily. I always tan in the summer and when we go on vacation, and I stay tan for long periods...

I've only been sunburned once...

when I went to spain a couple of years ago it was around 43 degress C.
Well one day I went for a swim and forgot to put on suntan lotion...not a good idea.
when night came the back of my shoulders were covered in blisters which burst, leaking puss during the night....the puss dried up all down my back, now try and eat some greasy bacon......since then I've never had sunburn?....

Whenever there's enough sun for me to get out I sunburn if I'm not careful. I get a tan after a while, though.. but it does take a while.
If I look closely I can still see the tan I got from last summer. I don't think I'll be getting much of a tan this summer, though.. :/

Tempest, did we really need to hear about that pus-bursting business? ;

My nose gets all red in the sun, which is annoying since the rest of me hardly tans at all.

I skip the tanning step and go right to burning...it's really sad, but it's the way my skin works. I'm not completely white, like albino white, but i'm still extremely light... for some reason if I stay out in the sun for a while it doesn't effect me, just when I go outside for short periods of time...

I've never gotten a sunburn, and I'm not exactly prone to tanning. But, my skin is very sensetive in pretty much every other way. Dunno why.

I've been burned about four times in my life, give or take and I tan pretty fast as well. Course, when I work out, its outside in 90(something) degree weather with not a lot on, so....
