Ok, this is a really noobish question, probably, but here it is. I want to make whole new tiles, not just the ones already in the game. Like say for instance, I actually made custom blocks (provided I knew how to). How do I make their own individual graphics out of scratch?

Make new ExGFX files, design the tiles you want in the 8x8 editor or any tile editor, go to the 16x16 editor, go to any page above the third one, pick a definite spot for it, and select the proper 8x8 tiles for the block to use. And, of course, set the proper way for it to act.

So I make a new file in YY-CHR and make some 8x8 tiles and name it like ExGFX83.bin... and then... how do I specify what they do again? I got kinda lost

You insert the tiles into LM. Go open 8x8, and 16x16 editor. Find the 16x16 tile in the 16x16 editor that your block is stored. Click it, and then click Edit 16x16 attributes. The four boxes on top are the 8x8 tile numbers you use. The next one is palette. Next is layer priority (mario goes in front of, or behind) the final is block acts like settings (which you find in block inserter). then right click paste your block onto the 16x16 square, and hit F9 to save... Its really quite simple |
