MS is good with patching Windows. I'm not going to bash them on that front because every time a major exploit is found, they plug it up. I will, however, bash anyone who's too lazy to open Windows Update every once in a while. |

Well...I kind of find it funny that whenever a comp goes bad with, say, a computer virus...you know one that makes it so it doesn't start up anymore unless you were to actually reinstall Windows (or if you bootdisked through it and figured the problem out) that they rather go out and by a new system... ...What...what....what....WHAT?! That's like saying, oh this car's ignition is shot or...oh this car has a flat...better buy a new car. (edited by Ranko on 06-28-04 04:07 AM) |

Originally posted by Ranko But for a good cause, dammit! Hell, if it didn't screw anything up, I'd probably only get in trouble for the DoSing. See, it's reasons like this that if I had a webcam, I'd unplug it when not using it. BTW, I hate how the PS2 has its power switch on the back. It's so well designed to sit in a small enclosed area like a VCR... but then you gotta reach back to turn it on! |

I will, however, bash anyone who's too lazy to open Windows Update every once in a while. Is there any way to open Windows Update and tell it to do whatever it needs to do as soon as you shut down? It's quite annoying when the computer prompts you to run WIndows Update right away, and then makes you RESTART THE COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY! |

Windows isn't the only one with a good update System, I found the updating system in Fedora core 2 very easy. Originally posted by ColleenWell, I have the automatic update option. Thought I check manually once in a while. Set it so it download the patches but dosen't install them before I prompt to do so. |

Did anyone ever think of using ctrl-f on the agreement things. I just realized that I have been reading through them looking for certain words that says they will install extra stuff, but I could have just used the word search thing. I am careful about what I download, and because I have done this, and my brother has gone to a tech school, I have a completely adware spyware computer. |
