I don't even think Jesper USES the dialup there. Basically it's his way to get away from it all along with his family.

And besides, if you're in broadband-happy Sweden, why the HELL would you want to use dialup?

We still have forests in Sweden, people live in forests (or "landet" as we say.. the countryside) and those guys can't get broadband. I don't see why you would want to use dialup if you can get DSL though.

Dial up is pay per minute here, infact dial up is more expensive that broadband here. My internet bill was around 60-80 $ during my dial-up phase.

Dial-up is expensive, and is becoming rare. Heck I joined this forum becuse of broadband, if I didn't get broadband back then I probably still would have been lurking.

Yes, Dial-up is more expensive. Use it for one hour per day and it's more expensive...

Why does he have to get Dail-up only during certin times?
I mean I wouldn't hurt to just keep broadband for however long that he has to be away considering what Kitten Yiffer said...

The only time Jesper uses dialup is when he is not at home for periods of time. That is because the only time he is away from home is to be with relatives and his relatives don't use broadband. So, why would jesper pay for broadband at a place he doesn't visit more than 2 weeks in a year?

Reid: If you had read the thread, you would have seen that Jill pointed out some areas of Sweden do NOT get DSL. And Jesper's in one of those areas at the moment.

You know...every time Jesper makes one of these threads...I gotta wonder what would happen if he lost high speed internet and all he had left was dialup for say...half a year or a year...

I'd say he'd go paranoid.

I'm pretty sure he does use his serv via his connection.

It'd suck to be Colleen or Ash then.

I'm leaving for my dad's tomorrow (June 29th). They have crappy dialup and a slow computer and you're only allowed to use it for an hour a day (7 kids and 2 adults in total, and it's expensive ). I'll make an actual thread about this too.

Now that I think about it, what's the big deal?

OMG IM UZING DIALUR>;.p

If I made a thread every time I used dialup, this forum would be full. It's not a big fucking deal.

How about I go to the library, sign on one of those 1337-speed comps, then just before I leave make a thread like this?

Oh well. Now if you were losing it ENTIRELY, then, yes, that might be something to post about, but just leaving for a week [er, having it for a week] is nothing. Blerh.
