OK, a few days ago, I decided to crank up my SNES, and I was just wondering if there was anything similar to Flash Cards, except for SNES, so that I can take some ROMS on my PC, transfer them to cart and then play on my real SNES? Thanks in advance! |

This site teaches you to make your own: http://alpha-ii.com/caitsith2/snes/snes_cart_dumper.htm Here is another site that teaches you to make your own: http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/sfcdev.php I haven't been able to find one that people still make and you can buy...although ebay may be a viable place to look |

Oh god, complicated I'll see what I can do with that. Thanks neo Ermm... Was there any ever periphals for the SNES that allowed you to play NTSC games on a PAL SNES and (Not required) vice-versa? Because I may buy one on eBay, all I have to do is to convert Euro to dollars and/or get a cheque book (edited by Edsgravy0 on 06-23-04 01:46 PM) |

I'm pretty sure there was a way to mod a SNES to play NTSC/PAL games, though it involves having a switch sticking out of the console. The procedure for a flash cart is simple: Remove the ROM, put in a rewriteable one, wire it so the pins match. Actually doing it isn't so easy, though. |

One link is broken and the other one looks really REALLY complicated. Is there any easier way? like a step-by-step guide?

You might be able to find something similar to PocketNES, excpet for SNES. Then you could get a regular flash cart and play the ROMs on your GBA. But I think its the semi old-school 16 bit feeling you get from playing on SNES that you want here, so maybe not (edited by GbBoy on 08-17-04 09:53 PM) |

Yup, it's an old-school feeling I want, not available through ROMS. Ah well, I've thought of a solution: 1. Hatch a plan to make millions. 2. Retrieve millions. 3. Buy NTSC SNES + Games on eBay. Just anpother question though: Will both NTSC and PAL games work on the same TV? Or are the TVs regionally encoded as well? |

NTSC and PAL are similar, but they are different enough to be incompatible. They use different frame rates and PAL encodes colors differently on every other scan line.

There is a better way to upload ROMS from your PC to your SNES. What you do is buy an SNES Game Copier. These things can backup real carts, run games from a floppy disk, and the preferred method, hook up the copier to your PC via the parralel port, and directly transfer the games from there! AIM me at Mobilesuit17 for more details if you are interested, I don't want to write about all the copiers here, it would take quite awhile...

There actually is a vendor for SNES-flash cards on the net. Check: www.tototek.com for more information. They've got a 64MBit Flash-cart that can hold up to 4 games at once and you can down-/upload rom-images and savegame-files. There's also battery backed ram on the cart and soldering the proper region-chip (CIC) onto the card makes it work like a usual SNES-cart. Sounds promising, doesn't it? |
