They also failed to redo the text on the back of the box, so it still said that it required all four players to have Kirby's Nightmare in Dream Land to play multiplayer. |

"although I have layouts turned off anyway... they're almost always too gaudy for my tastes. plus it makes things take a lot longer to load... even if you're on broadband like I am."
same here, except I have 56k. total hell. XD
What I do in my layout situations is whine, and then the html fairy comes and makes everything all better. |

I'm sorry but I can't let that go to waste.
Silvey, I hearby give you the most honorable title of "*edit* lover".
I had to edit that because it was just too crude. But you can pretty much figure it out. |

Take a look at this thread.
You've seen these threads time and time again haven't you? Common mistake right? Well here's my question.
When you reply to a thread, is there an option to post some form of "reply topic"?
Of course not. You hit reply, and you type in the little black box. Never is there an option for a reply topic.
So if you meant to hit "New Post" instead of "New Thread", then why do you make a topic for it? That right there should be a definite key-in that you're not in reply mode.
So what gives? |

Some people just don't get it, I guess. You'd think that a field clearly labeled as "Thread Title" would hit them, but it doesn't to some ... |

It's not just the field title, it's that there's even a field at all. |

Recently, it has come to my attention that these names are annoying (someone started a thread about it), I ask... How the heck can they be annoying? They are nicknames at the board, it's not like they're freaking popups, blinking-flash-thingies, or loud, repetitive music or something. It's not like I go around shooting out lame jokes based on this nick, either. I have pretty much acted just like I would act if my nick was The SomerZ. So, then I ask, how the heck is it annoying? |

I'm only doing this so I get more power with my anti-Firefox statements. After all, if you hate AOL without using it, it doesn't matter much, but if you hate it and use(d) it, it's a lot more powerful.
My trial period ends 7/02, one day after my anniversarry.
I have set a chamclock alarm.
Anyway, I'm already having problems I didn't have with Opera right-out-of-the-box. Firefox uses too many little non-standard errors ... take the Prefs dialog; it's REDICULOUSLY fucked up [wrong size] at start, and when I click something it takes a few seconds for it to go "DUH! HE CLICKED".
The cache options aren't nearly as customizable as Opera's [IE, I can only set the size; with Opera, I set that, what to cache, how often to check, and loads of other stuff.]
It loses more points for having one of the worst UIs I've ever seen. Everything's thrown around without care; "VIEW" has no option for a status bar [I like Opera's that pops up only while loading; time, speed, percent, total, images loaded] or anything. I want my address bar at the bottom, and the buttons at the top. But no! I can't move them. How stupid.
There's no mouse gestures and the 'tabs' take up far more space than needed; Firefox's little 'custom' menu look looks like utter SHIT with my color scheme [I prefer light on dark, thanks-- currently White on Dark Red w/ black BGs] but nope, it's a pain.
Resising the window's pretty funy too, seeing as how it takes forever to redraw...
Oh, wait, I just hit "Customize Toolbar". Not only is it a SINGLE BORDER FIXED THING THAT TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD, BUT IT'S TOO BIG FOR THE WIDNOW IT'S IN!! AHAHAHAHHA!!
Don't give me that crap about "download plugz" and shit; I'm treating Firefox like Opera; it should have what youwant, when you want it: if I wanted opera plugins, there's button to get them in the dialog.
With Firefox, it's a 6meg download, including more of these 'plugin' bullshit that I need. Woohoo.
Opera gives a 10M download, but it includes Java with it [which I needed, otherwise it's abotu 6MB or so last I checked] ... it includes SO MUCH MORE than this stupid program they call Firefox.
I seriously cannot see why in the hell I'm doing it, but I am. I want that Gmail account only so I can see how it works and crap.
Not to test the browser. That's just a side problem.
Arrgh.
DAY 1
EDIT: Oh, wait, I forgot to meniton. PRESSING DOWN TO SCROLL IS SO FUCKING SLOW IT'S WORTHLESS.

I guess, if you have experience from messageboards where those fields exist in the new reply section (yes, such boards exist), then you wouldn't think much of it. |

I'm pretty sure Admin's aren't affected by that.
In other news I fucked up and went over -4000 [who didn't see THAT coming] so I'm going to rewind about 250 posts and try again.
Hopefully. Bleh. |

I use Mozilla (and sometimes IE, if there's a page that refuses to work correctly in Mozilla), and so far I haven't had any problems with layouts not working.
Or at least, I never knew if the problems were layout-related
And I pity those of you on dial-up... I can (barely) remember what that was like, before I got broadband (1.5Mb/sec download speed ). |
