This thread almost got out of hand, and it's just only about web-browsers. And I must say that I laughed when Trashykinds said "commie linux scum!" XD.

I can't understand why it takes so long to start Firefox/IE for some people. They both start fast for me.

Alright, first of all... On the main subject, THANK YOU! It's about damn time someone said that. If you tell a real web browser to load a text file, guess what it displays? A TEXT FILE.

Now, about the browser arguments...
-Mozilla rendered every transparent PNG in here perfectly on Win98. I've also done some tests on WinXP and got the same result.
-Regarding IE's small load time/RAM usage: Did you include the time it takes for Windows to load, and how much RAM the rest of the OS is using? IE is built into Windows, it's always loaded, and its RAM usage is split up among a lot of different processes.
The biggest point I feel I should make is that using IE to surf the web is a lot like using spaghetti as a bungee cord - it'll work, but not for long. In IE, it is literally possible in even the latest versions to be infected with a virus merely by opening a web page. This should say enough, but wait, there's more. IE totally ignores HTML standards

...Excuse me, Windows, I did not ask for this post to be submitted yet.

Anyway, IE goes off and creates its own little world. The standards say electricity goes from negative to positive. Mozilla says it goes from negative to positive, and if it doesn't work, will go on to do the next thing. IE says you can define which way it goes, but if it doesn't work, NOTHING works, and if it does, it takes twice as long and doesn't do quite what it's supposed to.

Cancel the bid.

BTW, the only pictures I see are the front of the box and a picture of a picture of someone with writing on it.

well, it is not like Mozilla does either. As of right now, there are no browsers out there that can boast it meets the HTML 4.0 standard

anyways, debate about which is a better browser will never end because the debate is always going in circles and the same reasons ALWAYS come up: the time it takes to load, how a page looks from the given code, the picture standards it supports, and the resources it takes up.
