Really, what harm would it do to eliminate mosquitoes completely? How would they affect the natural enviroment other than the spread of desiesi(SP)?

Suri Bear: You did.

There was a mosquito in my house yesterday night. Just lying on the wall.

Of course, I open the back door and the thing decides to leave. Fine, good riddance.

(The last time one was in the house was the time it stung me for 5 seconds straight. OW... huge bite.)

I remember when I was at a camp with some friends a few years ago. In another room, there were a lot of mosquitoes.

When I came into the room, he had smacked mosquitoes all over the wall...

Those big huge ones always come in sometimes. They go and sit on the wall and have a beer. Aren't those the mosquito eaters though? There was one in the shower and I got all scared before and I turned on the shower and it got squished by the water .

Well, we had this big old mosquito in our lamp the other night. I was playing PS2, and I hear this clinging sound near our lamp, and lo-and-behold, I look in the lamp, and see the little idiot bug running into the light...

What is the association with bugs and bright lights

Yeah, it's funnny how they run into light bulbs in stuff. They run into it and then it pushes then backwards and then they go back . We have a bug zapper too in our garage. It's constantly making that zapping noise.

I FIND IT HORRIFIC THAT YOU WATCH LITTLE ANIMALS SUFFER!

But hey...it's the same reason all other insects do that, it's the same reason birds fly into windows, and it's the same reason why tall guys hit their heads every so often on things higher up...they don't see it coming.

Um... there would be a gap in the food chain, causing a possibility of a distruction or twist of it.

Also, just turn your outside lights off if you need to. It always gets bugs away from here, at least.

The poor little bugs are just attracted to the light. I can't do anything if they keep on running into my light bulb constantly . All I can do is watch and wait for them to find the way out. I only help the nice bugs. Not the ones that leave me itching. I scared to get bit by a misquito now because of that West Nile virus crap

Ha! I never worry about West Nile Virus...

The odds of you getting bit with an infected mosquito are 1 to about... 5,000.

On average, the odds of you even getting effects from it are 1 to about 1,000, depending on genetics.

That's why I never worry.
