I live in Georgia and I'm sure it's terrible there right now, but I'm on vacation in California and I haven't been bitten once.

We have a lot here, like we always do. I have a few bites already. It's really annoying, but they're not the worst thing in the world.

Those little black flies annoy me more. They're everywhere here

The weather turned bad here, so they're gone again for a while.
I'm glad they're more attracted to Adrian, so he gets the bulk of the bites

People bitching about mosquitos don't know how bad it can be. I'm allergic to the pesky little bastards. I get bitten, and I get huge swellings.

Anyway, mosquitos ruined next year for me. We have conscription in Norway, so nearly every man has to serve one year in a military branch after secondary school (pacifists may become civil servants in stead of joining the military). I was looking forward to this year, but they wouldn't let me in because of my allergies. Now, everybody I know are talking about how much fun they'll have in their respective military duties next year, while I'm missing out, all because of the damned mosquitos.

When I was younger and we would stay out late at a park or something and I'd get all eaten up. There would be swellings and everything. My sis still has scars from one awhile back . I don't though. I haven't been bitten in awhile. I don't stay outside that late anymore . California Mosquitoes..they are out here but I'm sure it isn't as bad in some places but we have our fair share.

By swellings, you mean they're just larger than usual? Or do other things happen, like they get puffy and infected.. ew.
I'm that kid you knew in your childhood that was allergic to everything. I guess I lucked out with bugs. Z, why would you WANT to serve in the millitary?

Eww no puss or infections, that's just nasty but just larger than usual They come in all shapes and sizes. I have allergies but they're not too bad. I'm not allergic to Mosquiitoes, if I was then I probably wouldn't go outside at night.

Once a mosquito stung me and kept sucking for around... oh... 10 seconds or so.

The size of the bite was quite large. It went away within a day but it wasn't pleasant at all. Never even felt it.

YD: They're large than usual and if they get in my face, I might get sick. It's no fun, I tell you. As for serving in the military, it seemed like a neat thing to do, while planning what to do next. Now I go straight from Secondary School to University, in stead of having an off-year and doing some cool militaryish things. Being a military-man isn't exactly dangerous, either. The odds of anyone attacking Norway in the close future are unbelieveably small, and the only soldiers who are sent on NATO or UN-missions abroad are those who agree to it themselves.

Most kids are allergic to mosquito bites. My sister is, in fact. After around 11 or 12, it normally dies down, but sometimes continues through adulthood. The only symptom is really larger-than-normal mosquito bites.

I used to hate it when I was younger. I would get like 8 of them at a time all over . They suck when they're in hard to reach places too. Sometimes the alcohol wouldn't work

Did you know that mosquitoes are also called skeeters? The skeeters here in Iowa are huge, strong and aggressive. I'm not a real skeeter target but some have biten me and I didn't know it until I got a bump with an itch

Female skeeters are the ones that drink blood.

Hence the term in Illinois for the huge ones: Skeeterhawk.

Skeeters...
Never heard of that nickname for Mosquitoes. Sounds like some old bum shortened the word because it was to hard to pronounce.

Horror Nightmare!! So smart and funny I am... pssh.. like that'll ever happen... hmm... maybe it will nobody ever knoes. Maybe there will be a cure for dumbnesses.. or maybe I'll become rich one day on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" How do you spell millionaire anyways? Did I spell it right? Hmm..

N.e.wayz, mosquitos need to die!! I mean... DIE!! Like when-you-make-someone-sniff-my-socks kinda dead!!! XDD

Here in Canada there is lots of vegitation and the air tends to contain high levels of moisture, so lots of pesky mosquitoes are all over the place and tend to be very agrressive. I hate the little fuckers.

I think one of them bit my foot when I was sleeping, it's her loss, really. (I hear it's the female mosquitoes that suck).
