I'm having some problems with this art, and I decided to say screw it and get some help. As you can see, it sucks.  The outline is choppy and the colors are plain, and partly I simply can't draw. Ignore how the drawing itself is lame. I think I can figure out the coloring on my own, that's not the major issue.How would I fix the outline to make it smooth? I did look at tutorials and they weren't very helpful. I ended up just making it all MSPaint style to see if I could antialias it, but I'm lame. What would be the best way to deal with this? Also, if it helps, I have the psd file where the original scan is separate.. also, the outline is separated from the colors. I also have Photoshop and Illustrator. I know next to nothing about Illustrator, as far as lines and stuff.. I tried making art, and like every line I make starts a new layer. What's with that? |

I did use pencil. This was what my original scan looked like. Obviously I've cleaned it up since then. I did adjust the contrast too, that's what came from what you're looking at now.. MSPaint style. What I want to know is how to smooth the lines, either by doing something in Photoshop or like going over them in Illustrator. I'll go over my art in pen and scan that to see how it turns out, and then I'll update this post. |
