Tower Records = the sucks

They're supposed to be lowering their prices to compete with stores like Best Buy and Target. The prices are supposed to be lowered to $13.99. I don't see that yet. They really need to since they're on the brink of bankruptcy.

When they have their sales, usually, it isn't even a sale. My sister wanted to buy the Yellowcard CD there and it said it was $13.99, on sale. Well we went to the front and stuff and it came out to like 16 bucks. She said it was $15.99. I just said screw it and we went to Circuit City and bought it for $11.99 . We should have went there in the first place since I know they have cheaper prices. I wanted to see if Tower lowered any of their prices yet but I guess not. So about half those CD's there with low prices probably were a few dollars more...or either the lady made a mistake at the register...but you never know! Damn Tower..long live Best Buy and Target and all those other stores that sale CD's at a affordable price

I'm trying to save money on CD's not spend more or over 13 dollars. That store have always been expensive. I remember once I bought an Eminem CD there for 20 bucks, the first one. Well a few weeks later I saw it at Targe for 13.99 . That was my younger days of shopping for CD's but now I know where to go.

Man that sucks. I don't think we have a Tower Records here.. we DO have a Sam Goody, and your story reminds me of my experiences there.

Best Buy (at least where I live) is hands down the best place for CDs. They have TONS.. even of Siouxsie and the Banshees, which like no one has heard of.

the stores i go to are actually pretty cheap(like the samgoody, i got story of the year on sale for 12.99, and i got some other cds there in the first couple of days for cheap, like 9.99 to 13.99, which isnt that bad compared to how much shopko sells their cds for(but they are going down...)
we dont have tower records, but we have hastings, and those are overpriced, especially for the used cds(15.99 for a used copy of mer de noms!?and its 12.99 new, what the fuck?)

When the cost of a couple of cd's is about the same as a CD-R/W, there's no wondering why there's so much piracy going on. And it sucks when you buy a cd and find out you only like one song and the rest are garbage.

I hardly EVER buy media from the mall. It's insanely over priced. Have you ever been to FYE/Suncoast/Sam Goody/etc and seen the prices of anime? Good god, it's outrageous. I saw one dvd of Cowboy Bebop selling for 29.99. Imagine trying to buy all of them. (I think there's 5 or 6)

I found the COMPLETE SET on Amazon.com for 18 bucks. Brand spankin' new.

Tower records sounds familiar, but I've never been there personally.

Best Buy has some fairly decent prices but not as low as you'll find on the internet. That's for sure.

And of course Wal-Mart is pretty cheap too if you don't mind getting censored albums. K-Mart changed their policy a few years back and they now sell uncensored cd's.

Everything > Tower.

If you don't use the internet, then Best Buy is...well, the best! My friends and I frequent that place all the time, and it's not so taxing on our wallets.

Sam Goody = sucks too

I've never seen anything on sale there when it used to be at this mall. I remember looking at the anime..it was VERY expensive

Wal-Mart is good too but only for CD's that are censored or don't have anything like that at all. I prefer Target for CD's over Wal-Mart but Best Buy is..the best. They always have sales for CD's around 9.99.

I remember reading an article for Tower and the first one made was here in Downtown Sac eh I hate Tower though. I hope it burns in bankruptcy. The only reason I kind of like it is because of the listening station thingys. At this Wal-Mart close by. They used to have them but by now they're broken or taken out.

In the Great White North, there are two big music based stores. HMV and Sunrise. Both of them bite it big time. HMV's anime DVDs are ridiculously overpriced...Since the second cheapest I could get my Blood DVD was 5 bucks less (it was 40$) I really didn't care, because either way it was going to come to 40 bucks. Sunrise, well, they carry nothing in the way of good music. It is all underground indie rock that I hate and makes me want to wretch, or it is all chart topping shit that makes me want to wretch more. In the entire province, there was only 10 motorhead CDs available through Sunrise at anyone one time. That is quite irritating.

Luckily in my city, there are two independant record stores. Starr and Dejavu. Starr sells vinyls and cassettes exclusively, and I've picked up pretty much every Kinks album there is through there. Dejavu sells pretty much any music or movie you could want used. They wok.

Except I do mind getting censored CD's. I want the whole thing, released as the artist intended. That's also why the 7 Series offends me... lop off half an album and sell it for the same price? Fuck YOUUUUU.

EL: Dunno if I've been to an HMV. If I did, it was in Vancouver or NYC. And now they're pulling out of the US... I'll stick to the used bins or, surprisingly enough, Target. Hey, I got Rooney for $8, Modest Mouse for $10. Yet another reason why Wal-Mart can lick me.

Uncensored CD's are the best. I don't want to hear some twisted stuff that I'm sure the artist didn't want changed. You got Rooney at Wal-Mart or Target for $8? I actually have money for that .

Hmm...clean verison of records...do these things even sell? Well, I guess it is a compromise for parents and stuff you know. In some ways, parents wish their children didn't listen to such music but in order to keep their kid happy, this is one way to compromise with that fact? i dunno...

speaking of tower records, the one near my campus has closed...

While my mission to find the game/pad combo of DDRMAX2 failed, I did score a used copy of Megadeth's Rust in Peace for $4.99 at an EBGames, of all things.

My parents don't care much of what I'm listeing to. Except that one time when I was listening to the Marshal Mathers LP and #2 is called "Kill you" and my dad was like "What are you listening to?" but he didn't make a big deal about it. My mom goes with me to buy all my uncensored crap, my dad did too. He bought me my 2nd Marshall Mathers LP after it got stolen . I bought the censored version of Nelly's first CD on accident but I don't mind it. At least I got it at all.
