Is anyone here a fan of the never-released version of Resident Evil 2? A quick summary for those who don't know what Resident Evil 1.5 is:

Capcom made Resident Evil 2, and at about 80% complete, they decided to scrap the game and start over from scratch. The scrapped version became known as Resident Evil 1.5. From seeing all the screenshots and videos of Resident Evil 1.5, all the fans of it view it to actually be better than the Resident Evil 2 of today. It had things that Resident Evil 2 didn't have, such as spiders crawling through vents, zombies that could crawl up the ledges, a lot more blood, and different areas. There could be many zombies in one room, and zombies came in different types. For more info on Resident Evil 1.5, you should visit http://www.bioflames.com. Its a great site. It has lots of screenshots, and actual video footage of the game. I am a registered member on the forum by the way.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone here who is a fan of 1.5, can go along with me through the Resident Evil 2 Demo that came with RE: Director's Cut, and see if we can find anything that was in 1.5. Some people have said that there may be material in it from 1.5. You're going to need a GameShark though, and you're going to have to be a good GameShark hacker, so you can bypass areas in the demo. I actually used the GameShark code to get the "L Key" so I could access an area you are not supposed to access in the demo. The room is from the Resident Evil 2 we know, but there may be more. The game locks up if you try to bypass that room. This can be a lot of fun.

well, the reason they scraped it was because they felt it had shitty controls, and there were alot of other problems that capcom had while developing this version, and the people that played in in the test demos didnt like it much...

but they should have put some of those different things into re2, such as the spiders going through vents and things like that.

did you know there was actually going to be a gbc resident evil that went along with the story of the first game, and that it didnt look like ass like gaiden?
it was in 3d, and suprisingly, it looked good compared to most of the other gameboy games in 98

Yeah, I've seen that GBC RE. It really pushed the system's limits, that is why it was scrapped. There were funding problems, control problems...All a pity, because it showed what that little box could do.

I believe that the Alone in the Dark game came out for GBC, which was supposedly quite pretty.

Some screens of Alone in the Dark on GBC. Jeezus...So pretty.

I remember the GBC Resident Evil too... It was simply stunning. You'd never have thought that a GBC could pull such graphics, but in the end, everyone knows why it wasn't worth the effort... Of course the GBA was then on the horizon, where similar graphics could be achieved no problem.
