| Spam is defined by the quality of posts, not the quanity. Just because someone posts remarkably more than anyone else on a single day, it's not considered spamming. If the content of the posts wasn't on-topic, or just plain lame, content less and such, then it would be spam. That was on New Year's, too. We had a party, of sorts. |

| I've done 301 back in the day with 20 hours of work. ~15 posts per hour...or a post every four minutes or so. And this was on a 56K. It's not that hard if there's activity and people willing to help you out... |

| I guess someone could get syndromes by preparing a bunch of comments offline over the course of a few days. After that, said person could start rapidly posting them along with ones written on the spot. Comments rendered irrelevant by discussion after the comment was prepared could be skipped, but it would be better for getting a syndrome to just touch them up a bit. | |||

| Well, I know I've never been able to post 600 times in a day before, but I have had my sprees before.... they're just never big ones. I am not a particularly big poster. I have managed to get Reinfors Syndrome a total of ONE whole time. But there's a reason I don't really post too much. It's because I don't see why I should post something if I don't really have anything to say. I don't see the point of filling a thread with random crap just for the sound of "hearing my own voice" (or rather, reading my own text), or for the point of making my post count bigger. If I don't have anything worth saying, I shut the hell up. And frankly, I think that this is the kind of attitude a lot more posters should take onboard. Course, what is "worth saying" is completely subjective... which is half the problem when you try to define "spam" and "good posts". Everybody has a different idea of what each of those things are. But that's a debate for another time... |
