| Is there any special procedure you have to follow before you can start working with and hacking NES ROMs? I seem to recall having to convert one to a .bin file before you could work with it. The reason I ask is because at some point, to try and get my programming skills back up to par, I'd like to try a simple Dragon Warrior editor wherein you can edit the costs and power of items. |

| no, you shouldn't have to, it doesn't really matter the file extension as long as it has the data. but if i'm wrong, ask in programming as well. | |||

| Okay...had the two confused apparently. I thought it was one or the other (That would make sense, hence the "Genesis" compression scheme that's sometimes talked about here). Thanks! This thread has served its purpose I guess. |
