Okay, I'm not going to ask if anyone's watching this, because I know all y'all bitches are. Second season now, and they've made some changes. The premise, if you don't know:

* A bunch of judges go around to eight cities, holding open calls for comedians. They invite 40 to NYC.
* In New York, the 40 gets whittled down to 20, who go to Vegas. They get reduced to 10.
* Those 10 comics live together. Hilarity ensues. They also vote for who they think is the least funny, that person picks who they think they can take, and they do routines. Audience (no, not YOU) votes. One goes home, the other... goes home. Pick which one goes where.

In other words, Generic Reality Competition Show. But it's Fucking Funny. F'rinstance, one guy (Chris Voth) did a bit about one of his friends who, and he knew he shouldn't mention him, but he's a little... (holds hand in front of him, shakes it a bit) He's got Parkinson's. (ba-da-BUM)

Anyway, there's some CHICANERY. Two of the finalists have a producer as an agent. The judges also are very familiar with some of the comedians, too. A couple of judges walked out of the round of 20 because a couple of comics tanked, but got moved on anyways.

Yup, I'm watching it. Saw last season's.. I missed an hour, which I'm going to catch up on at the Comedy Central rerum

I think it was better last year, so far. I mean, how they're handling things. They could chop off a lot of time from watching the comics that aren't funny. The judges usually aren't funny either, and watching their bland responses to bland auditions is.. well, bland. It was good for a chuckle a few times, but it got old. The whole screening thing could've been eliminated.. I didn't want to watch that. Seeing them perform longer sets in front of an audience, that was better.

As the show progresses, you get to see more of the better acts. I was surprised to see some comics I'm already familar with, but pleased.. it's a nice mix. I don't care who wins, I just want to laugh.

The thing I really like about Last Comic Standing is how they have comedy competitions. They eliminate each other by seeing who's the funniest, so it's not purely by chance.

America DOES get to vote, but only for the last five.. that's what happened last year, right?

Watched last season and I've started to watch this year's, but with work..at any rate, I'll catch the reruns.

Does anyone know if Pablo Fransico is still in? I've seen/heard his stand-up and it's just amazing.

You've got good taste, I'll give you that. It would really be a shame if he did though. He's still one of my favorite comics...

Bella, they show reruns on Comedy Central. And it's on Tuesdays, not Wednesdays..

As it narrows down to the funnier comics, it gets more interesting..

me = sorry and no have satelite/cable, that's good to know for later reference though I kind of forgot which day it was on. I would have gotten confused and watched to see if it was on both nights

Yeah, Dat Pham or Phan..something like that. He was funny . He'd always talk about how his mom would say things and stuff.

I watched it on Saturday night and was pretty pissed off at how a good deal of the crappy comedians got voted to go on. Why the hell didn't Tony Woods get nominated? It was such bullshit.

...And I didn't see a single funny female. I'm not meaning to be sexist, but damn...all of them sucked horribly, and yet half of the nominees were women.

I like Kathleen.. but I've seen her standup before anyway. And I think I just like her delivery more than anything, it makes her seem funnier.. I don't know. But you got a point there, the women weren't that great. Probably some kind of regulations or something..

How come we haven't seen more of Dat Phan? He wasn't that funny, but you'd think NBC would do something for him or something. I think Ralphie May or Rich Vos should've won.. luckily you can catch them on Tough Crowd.

I don't remember who Kathleen is . I can't fit the names with the faces yet. Yeah, not a lot of the women are all that funny..maybe they'll get better..or something

What did Dat Phan do? I forgot what he won I think it was some money and some guest spots on things. What's Tough Crowd on, Comedy Central?

Bella: Yup, Tough Crowd's on Comedy Central. And he's got a guest spot in... some movie. I think it's Cellular.

Anyway, some more detail on the aforementioned CHICANERY: Cringe Humor has a post revealing how it all went down. Look for BeantownComic's post... it's the fifth one. Here's a bit of a teaser:

Spoiler:
He told me how the show was exposed when Bret Butler and Drew Carey walked off the stage, divorcing themselves from the process, when they figured out the show's outcome had been already decided and they were simply window dressing for the cameras. LCS quickly apologized saying they had indeed screwed up by not telling the two celebrity judges how things were done, but that really wasn't the point.

And that makes PERFECT sense. Seriously, if I was them and I found out that they didn't give a rat's ass about my picks, I'd be walking too.

Bella, I was wrong, it's on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I hope you aren't listening to me that closely. XD I had simply checked TVGuide, and it wasn't listed for Wednesday, that's why..

Anyway, tonights episode was good. I think most everyone picked are the people who I would've picked, with like one guy edgy.. that Cory guy (for anyone confused, the black guy. ).. to be fair, I didn't get a chance to pay attention to him that closely, and I don't think anyone else was noticable better than him. But yeah, they made the right choices. Also that hot chick who's name starts with a B, I forget.. she wasn't THAT funny. I mean, they freaking out.. "SHE SAID THE C WORD OMG =O" I mean, it was the damn punchline. What's the point? But if you kinda imagine, she sorta resembles Uma Thurman, so I wouldn't mind staring at her for the next few weeks.

I'm glad they're doing these finals things two nights in a row, instead of weekly.

Yeah YD, when you said that I wasn't sure if it was on Wednesday because I remember watching it on Wednesday last week , got me a little confused.

Eh I missed yesterdays episode anyway because I was watching a few other things. I recorded it though I should go watch it in a bit. I didn't see anything wrong with that girl that said "the C word". She was okay. They picked a few people that I thought belonged there. Some I would have taken out and replaced with a few others.

I need my satelite back so I can catch dee re-runs

Well yesterday's episode just sucked. First they had to kick off Jim Norton (bald guy with wide eyes) because of contractual differences.. they said he's too successful for the show. Damn it, I wanted to see more if his standup. They brought in that old guy with the bad voice, who had to fly from Kansas to Los Angeles. And then he lost. XD
The worst part was how Dan whatshisname didn't make it. I'm bad with names, but he had the red lips.. he was the best out of the whole lot. He was hilarious and has major potential. Other comics were surprised about him not moving on, as well as the celebrity judges, which was how they found out that their votes meant shit. Obviously he didn't move on because of issues with race and sexism and stuff.. there are three girls there, and two are not in the least bit funny.
rrrrrgghh.

Norton got the hook because he couldn't get out of his deal with MTV to do some show this summer... if they're gonna boot him for being too successful, they've gotta throw out a bunch of ringers (Kathleen Madigan, Sue Costello... wait, she took care of that one herself, Ant).

And it's Dan Naturman, YD. I keep forgetting his name, but he was easily the funniest one there, and he didn't make it. So that pretty much narrows it down.

If I was Wiggins, I'm not sure I woulda flown out there if I knew I wouldn't move on. Then again, he called himself a saloon comic and he'd work anywhere (he WAS in Topeka when they called, you know...) so he'd probably do it and take advantage of the exposure. I wonder if that high school kid from the Chicago auditions (Wiggins was basically mentoring him there) is gonna go next time around... he's got potential.

Good point.. plus I wouldn't want the more successful people to leave. I like my entertainment.

Yeah, Dan Naturman. My mom says he's like Jerry Seinfeld funny.. not LIKE him, but could become successful like him or something. I'd like to keep an eye on him.

And Wiggins obviously didn't know he wouldn't move on. I liked him in the first auditions, he just hit a chord with some of his jokes, but didn't do so well in the longer set. I was actually surprised he made it through the whole thing, if you recall his voice. And yeah, I remember that kid. Hating highschool.. I'd like to see him again, to see how he evolved and such.

I can't watch this after that last episode. I mean, Jim Wiggins didn't make it?

Fucking producers. Knowing that this is a fix has turned me off from it.
