| "After a while of visualizing this noble spellcaster/warrior's battle techniques, I conclude that he's a very honorable fighter," says Schwa. "Today, I'll challenge him to a battle. Psi warriors can never truly be defeated, but that doesn't mean they always win." There's a pause in his internal monologue. "Well, this battle won't be about winning, then, will it? Of course not! I fight for honor, not to kill." A while later, Schwa sends a telepathic ping into the sky, hoping Lord Rahl will hear it and arrive at the battlefield Schwa had picked out. The psionic echo travels out in all directions, seeking the one human's mind known as Lord Rahl.... |

| Rahl was sitting in a chair in what appeared to be a room filled with books. No other person or being was in the room, seeing as this room was his private study. He had in his hands a tome that was thousands of years old, and the only reason it was still in one piece was because of the enchantments cast on it. The same enchantments were cast on every other book in the room, and on every item that contained knowledge in the Temple of the Winds. Rahl felt the ping of another person's mind attempting to reach his, and returned a telepathic message. 'Yes, I am Rahl. What do you wish of me?' |

| Rahl simply replied, 'I thank you for the challange, however I chose not to follow those pings. Your speaking has given me enough insight to scry where you are.' Rahl then placed the book on a nearby table, stood, and started to utter runic words under his breath. A faint glow filled the room, before engulfing Rahl and disapating, taking Rahl with it. Next to Schwa, there was a blinding flash of light and Rahl appeared standing next to him, looking around. |

| The pings stop. Schwa is nearby. He wears a black blindfold and white, loose clothes. "Thank you for accepting. For psi warriors such as myself, it is an honor to battle such worthy challengers. I battle in the name of Virtue, Respect, and Honor, and because of it I can never truly die. But... I don't fight to kill. I fight to teach myself and others. That said, are you ready to do battle with Schwa?" Schwa holds his hands up, and they become surrounded in blue, spiritual flames. "Fight with honor, worthy one. To battle!" Schwa slowly walks toward his opponent. |

| Rahl simply shifts his footing so that his left side is towards his opponent. A clear ring is heard through the air as he draws the Sword of Truth, and lets it hang loosely at his right side. A minor wind picks up, ruffling his clothes and making his gold cloak flap in the air as he states, "Your move." He allows the knowledge from his blade enter his mind, giving him the sword-knowledge of every Seeker before him. |

| "I think I'll start with an intermediate technique," Schwa says. He holds his right, glowing hand up. "Azure Bubble!!!" (echo effects) Out of his hand flies a blue bubble that starts circling Lord Rahl, without getting any closer or farther away. "There ya go. Happy now?" Schwa slyly comments. "I've been looking forward to this match because it pits two powerful minds against each-other. Go ahead and attack, if you're up to it." |

| OOC Could you possibly give me the definition of "Subtractive" magic? As soon as Rahl casts the spell, the bubble glows all 7 colors of the rainbow and hits Rahl with a blue beam. The beam does no damage whatsoever, but it seems to dispel the spell just casted. "Azure Bubble hits the foe as soon as he uses up mana. It kills the spell along with a portion of the foe's mana." Schwa, noticing an oppritunity, does a front-flip forward and lands a foot from Rahl. He then swipes a glowing fist for the head, then his other fist for the chest. OOC While Schwa's fists are cloaked in ether, his melee attacks do normal and holy damage, though not very much. Schwa doesn't specialize in power. |

| OOC: Subtractive magic is one of two "pure" forms of mana Rahl can channel. Subtractive magic deatomizes matter on contact, and can break apart the bonds holding a spell together. The amount of matter or mana it can destroy is equal to the amount put in. The other "pure" mana is Additive, which Rahl uses to cast all his spells save black magic. Rahl took a quick step back and another to the side, dodging Schwa's swings, and he also noticed the enchantments on Schwa's fists. He then swung his blade towards Schwa's ribcage. OOC: Rahl doesn't have a lot of physical power, he has technique and skill. |

| Schwa quickly moves his fists to his ribcage to block the blade. The blade hits the fists hard, but instead of Schwa's hands getting cut, the ether around them flares up, then Schwa quickly moves his hands away from the stopped blade and the ether returns to normal. Schwa's hands are completely healthy, not one cut on them. "All I did was focus psi to my hnads to deflect the blow," Schwa explains. "Take this." Schwa thrusts his right hand forward and launches a blue energy bolt at Rahl, then does the same with his left a second later. The two bolts are at different speeds, angles, and heights, making them slightly harder to track. |

| Schwa doesn't panic when his foe vanishes. He can't even see Rahl with his psychic vision, but he can sense him in the mind. "This will be hard, as he is not visible. I wait for him to attack now." Schwa's ether changes from blue to pale green. They seem to emit an aura that lures foes, though ever so slightly. Most foes have become enticed by this upon sight, but Schwa knows that Rahl is very wise and not easily duped by auras. |

| Rahl, under the dome of Subtractive magic, begins to charge a small amount of Additive magic between his hands. Once this contacts the dome, this spell will go off. | "What are you, a cultist!?" Schwa exclaims, alarmed whenever he hears such a chant. "I'm ending this game of yours. Soul Search!" (echo effect) Suddenly, Schwa can see his foe, clear as day. Soul Search allows Schwa to see living creature's souls as a physical thing, for almost 30 seconds. Schwa quickly attacks before the ability wears off. "Take this, worthy one!" Schwa thrusts his hands forward, launching 2 blue energy rings at Rahl. OOC Schwa never uses magic. Psi is not magic. So these attacks aren't affected by Subtractive magic. However, all psi requires mana. |

| Rahl, cursing lightly under his breath upon seeing his opponent's attack, used the mana he had charged for Dragu Slave, and shifted it to another spell. "Gate!" A faint circle appeared under his feet, and Rahl appeared to fall into the ground through it, Schwa's rings narrowly missing Rahl's head. Another ring appeared a good twenty feet behind Schwa, and Rahl was launched into the air from it, in such a path he would land directly behind his opponent. As he fell, he silently drew his sword and swung the flat side at the back of his opponent's head. |

| "Where'd he go? Oh wait, he's... whoopths." Schwa, knowing his opponent has moved behind him, doesn't even bother to turn around as .03 seconds later, the flat blade clunks him on the head. Schwa couldn't have dodged if he wanted to. Schwa gets back up and says, "Fine. How about a little help for myself?" Schwa holds his hands up, and the ether around his hands covers his whole body. Then it is thrown into the air and starts forming into something about Schwa's size. 6 seconds later, it has formed itself into a blue fox, flickering with ether flames. "This fox, called a Zraku Protector, is made out of pure energy. I suppose a hit with Subtractive Magic would wound it pretty good, but the real question is... can you hit it? Blessing of Defense!!!" (echo effect) Green sparks start circling the Zraku. Zraku looks at Schwa gratefully, as if thanking him for the help, then turns to Rahl and pounces. The Zraku's body grows brighter while it flies through the air, and it's ether flares up. |

| Rahl mutters under his breath, and quickly dives to the side, noticing the fox shooting past him. He quickly regained his footing, and reached into a pouch at his side. "I was hoping not to have to use this yet." He pulled out a handfull of what appeared to be black sand, and held it in sight of his opponent. "This is a form of Sorcerer Sand, to be exact, this is the type that increases the power of Subtractive magic. Each grain of sand up to doubles the power of a spell that involves Subtractive magic." Rahl shifted his hand so it was pointing towards Schwa's fox. "Seeing as you do not appear to wish to witness the Dragu Slave, this will have to suffice. The blast range is around the same, anyway." He then waited for either of his oppenents to make a move. |

| "Rahl, my protector has something to say to you," Schwa tells him. "Zraku, go ahead." Schwa holds an ether-surrounded hand up, and it flares up. Then, Rahl gets a telepathic message, which couldn't possibly be Schwa. The voice sounds female. "Rahl! Magic is not to be abused. Sorcery is dark, and it's whichcraft! White magery is at least acceptable, but here you have a sorcerer's artifact and are chanting strange voodoo verses in battle! That is not acceptable. You will pay for what you have done!" Zraku then leaps at Rahl, but lands right in front of him and opens it's mouth. Out of it's mouth, Zraku sweeps a fountain of white energy toward Rahl. Zraku's body lights up as it fires this energy beam. |

| Rahl launches himself into the air, using Additive magic to give himself more boost. He lands a good ten feet away from Schwa's protector. Rahl counters Zraku's speech with, "Sorcery is not dark, nor is it light." He draws the Sword of Truth in his right hand. "It is but a weapon, like this blade, or knowledge, or a firearm, or even your 'ether'. Weapons are not evil or good, it is how you use them that grants the item the title of good or evil. "As for why I know 'dark' spells, what is the purpose of a fight? To destroy your opponent utterly, and without mercy. Dark magic is the quickest route to do this against most creatures. I also draw off the power of beings who willingly grant power to those who ask, both good and evil. If that alone makes me evil, kill me." Or at least try. Rahl returns the handful of black Sorcerer Sand to the woven gold pouch at his left side, and pulls a handful of white Sorcerer Sand from the woven gold pouch at his right side. "However, seeing as you seem to despise 'dark' magic, I will refrain from using it as much as I can." He then waited for his opponent's next move, ready to set off his Sorcerer Sand at any moment. |
