Well, what do you want to point out?

Surely, all teh names you said out got different style of gameplay, like Planetside, which you play using FPS view, unlike the tradition Diablo-style gameplay. But, the main point is all these games let you to interact with other people.

If you like so much to level up and play alone, why bother to play MMORPG when you can do that too with RPG?

Reasons I am getting FFXI:

-The only MMORPG I've ever played is EQOA, which was pretty much just the bare bones of any MMORPG.
-I won't be the only one playing. At least four of my RL friends are joining, as well as some people from here I know will be there.
-Better graphics.
-Multiclassing, and more classes to toy with inlcuding reason #5:
-Dragoons!

I am going to get it after school. I'm getting out at 1:30 pm today, and after that...it's on.

Well I play FFXI, if you see a character name Maisu in the world Odin, then stop and say hi. I'm from Windurst so you can usually catch me there.

As for my opinion. Yeah it is slow in the beginning, you spend the first few hours leveling up and learning things, then when you go on your first mission and get on your first party, that is when things start getting fun. I love working as a team. I just haven't fought a boss yet. I'm wondering how that is going to be.

Gotta love the jobs. I enjoy my White Mage and Monk.

Bah...I just don't like the idea of playing an RPG (or whatever you call it) with other people online. But, looks like Chris really wants the game, so I think we're going to get it soon for the PC.

I've saved up 250$ so far for a PS2 and this game. I already have purchased a sizeable library of PS1 games. I'll be ready for it by the summer

Chrono-Trigger, Chrono-Cross. FF1-9. FFX. FFT... I'm going to have fun this summer.

I've had a sudden revelation today. I am SO starting a Tarutaru monk when I get my own copy. There's something particularly gratifying about watching a 2-foot-tall guy take down a rampaging ram with his bare hands.

PlayOnline has all the info about pricing and that.

Basically it's free for 30 days, $12.95/month after that for one character. $1/month extra for any extra characters or access to Tetra Master.

You suck at advice, and hard. Hell, you even forgot to mention one of the six basic classes Dragoons are useful if you know what you're doing, and the Summoner's summons are only worthwhile at ridiculously high levels due to the bugs in thier combat system.

My own rundown-

White Mage (WHM) are the hardest to solo but the easiest to party with. Either play WHM and sub as Summoner or play Summoner and sub WHM. Black Mage is also an acceptable sub, although generally not preferred. Tarus are great for this class, but if you pick Taru and you want to change to a warrior, you're pretty much screwed. Human are good too.

Thief (THF) is a pretty good class. You can go a lot of ways with them. You'll be useful for your bonus damage sneak attack and your ability to find rarer items than most people can. Play as anything but Taru. I wouldn't pick Galka either, but I could see why someone would want to.

Monk (MNK) is a decent mix between a damage dealer and a tank. I find that a lot of people who don't really know what they want to do play as a Human Monk.

Warrior (WAR) is a very tank-oriented class. You'll want to bind your provoke ability to a key in order to keep the monster focused on you, and then use your superior HP and armor to stay alive. White Mages and Red Mages will keep you alive while the combat classes will whittle away at the monster. You can do quite a bit of damage too, but that's not your primary role, and it's more of an added bonus for being the tank. Be anything but Taru.

Black Mage (BLM) is basically the nuke launcer of the party. His spells are ridiculously powerful, but he can't cast too many of them in a short period of time or he will draw the wrath of the monster away from the Warrior, and the poor mage will almost certainly die in only a hit or two. If you've made up your mind, be a Taru. Otherwise, be a human.

Red Mage (RDM) is half White Mage and half Black Mage. He also gets some special Red Mage-only spells of his own. Don't make the mistake of overlooking this class. While it would seem smarter to be a full power White Mage or full power Black Mage than being half power of both, the Red Mage's versatility and unique spells makes it an excellent support class, able to fit the mold of whatever role is required. He also starts off as a very strong fighter, but his fighting strength does not go up much each level, and by the time you reach high level you will be no better off than the other mages in physical combat. Be a Taru or a Human.

In general, if you have no clue what you want to do, pick Human as your race. Humans can do just about anything, so there's plenty of room for turning back. If you know you're a spellcaster, pick Taru. If you know you're a fighter, pick Mithra. If you know you're a tank, pick Galka.

Ok, I think I've finally figured out my game plan:

Make my way up to lvl 30 as a Monk, then switch to a Dragoon/Samurai.

Still don;t know about sub until 30, but I was thinking either Thief or Red Mage.

(P.S.: I was a Paladin all through EQOA, so I tend to stay away from tank classes. I'm just sick of them. )

Get a check card. That is what I use and you can get that really easily. Just open a checking account and ask for a check card.
