| There's been a lot of threads about the villains but there hadn't been one out of ALL of them. What do you think is the best Mario villain EVER? I would say either Bowser or Cackletta. I like them the same, and I can't decide, so....uh....BOWLETTA! |

| My opinion is the same as Jakuroth's. In my opinion, no Mario game is complete without Bowser as the main villain and as the final boss. But in order for this post not to be spam... here's the reasons why it is so. Wart: BOOOO! A frog that use bubbles as a weapon? PAH! Smithy: Complete Squaresoft villain cliche. Cackletta: Fawful (remembered his name! YAY!) is funny and all... but... just tell me, how many Big Bad Evil Witches are there in video games? Again, cliche. Bowser: WOW! He's NOT a cliche and is NOT lame! Not only that but he's actually a villain who tries to be both evil and funny and SUCCEED! The winner. No contest. You'd have to have guts [and be all-around stupid] to keep trying to beat the same guy over and over.  I mean, really; you drop him in lava. He comes back, AGAIN. You drop him again. He returns. You send him down a bottomless pit. He builds a fruity clown helicopter and throws reject robots at you. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Bowser just kicks ass. | Bowser Bowser Bowser. I mean, come on! He's one of the only villains in gaming nowadays who's REAL. NONONO, not THAT kind of real... As a person, I mean. He's a jerk, but at the same time, he's not 'pure evil.' NOBODY is pure evil, just as nobody is pure good. Bowser, it's safe to say, is more Mario's rival than enemy. Paper Mario made him out a little too much to be a villain, and I hope they fix that in the sequel, as they did in both Mario RPG and Superstar Saga. Kamek, however, is my favorite villain of all, but that's because I created a personality for him. Now I'll hand it to Fawful- damn, boy, you're kick-ass. I don't need to repeat the quotes up there. Fawful's the man. But not the way I like my villains to be. I mean, people say, 'Dude, Kefka is, like, SO EVIL.' And I'm like, 'Well, maybe...But he looks like a CLOWN...and he's SO EVIL. I don't LIKE my villains to be SO EVIL.' Fawful isn't SO EVIL...But...He's just not as cool as Bowser. He was a home run for the game, but as far as what my ideal villain is...he's nowhere CLOSE to Kamek. A good random cameo, for sure, but he has nothin' on Kamek...*blinkblink* Of course, considering Kamek is someone whose persona I made up for my fiction, of COURSE I'm going to like him more. We're talking about an insane old Koopa who's Bowser's Godfather who loves his grandkids to death and hates his son and is pissed because Bowser's parents- his dear friends- were killed in a war years ago because of the parents of the Mario Bros, and now he's out to become all-powerful and gather a team of 'villains' to be his minions. When you've got the Hands, Metal Mario, Andross, Ganondorf, etc. as your SLAVES, basically... When you get to the point where you take on the GODDESSES OF HYLIA and kick their ASSES...(Hylia is the planet's name as far as I'm concerned) When you get to that point, you know you've got something going on. |

| Tatanga's not on there cause nobody knows who he is unless you played Super Mario Land, a series more known for introducing Wario, a much better villain and now more a hero in his own right than anything, into the mix. Smithy's not a cliche Squaresoft villain, but the fact that he's a Square villain in the first place should have gotten him banned from the list of Mario villains (even if SMRPG was one of the best Mario games). Fawful isn't a badass or anything, but his goofyness kept me playing Superstar Saga. That and Luigi. Wart is Wart. No personality, just some toad. And frankly, I don't think Bowser's exactly a bad guy anymore. Nintendo's stuck him in so many situations where he's just not the villain (SMRPG, Superstar Saga, MarioKart, Melee, and all the rest), that he might as well have his own game, which would more than likely rock equally hard, if not harder, than most Mario games out there. So we've got an unknown, a new hero, someone who'll never return, a green dude who speaks perfect engrish, a frog, and Bowser, who's decided to make up with Mario more than once for the good of the universe. I think Nintendo's trying to tell us all to just be friends. Unfortunately, it's doing it in the form of gratuitous violence, which Bowser is the master of. So, Bowser gets my vote. |
