According to the spiolers Smackdown looks like an A quality show this week. I'm actually gonna go out of my way to watch it! Making it the first Smackdown I watched front to back in almost 6 months. Cena is way over rated. Sorry, Hes not bad in the ring, he doesn't need to be carried to a good match but when hes in the ring with someone with little talent, he can't carry them. His promos are annoying and boring. I'm pretty sick of him. I wish he would turn heel again. |

I think that Cena's speech are getting repetitive. And that annoys me.

He's not a BAD wrestler. Don't get me wrong. There's a lot of guys worse than him. And he is charismatic. But still... he can be better. Hopefully he still has enough drive to reach his full potential. |

But he uses a very small moveset. Yes, a lot of people in the WWE don't have a ton of moves... but someone like Cena can't just keep using the exact same moves to set up the F-U all the time. |

yeah all of of those points are true however some of the most popular superstars had small move sets such as undertaker, rock, austin and 80% from the ninties. Though a heel turn could be what Cena needs as there is only so much more he can do in his current position... Yeah his big down side is not being able to make someone crap look good....however only the top 5% have ever been able to do this such as triple h and the rock...they are great at selling the worse off wrestlers even though they could tear them to shreds. Goldberg in my opinion is a useles piece of monkey crap...he has never sold a move in his career...same with Hogan...When Rock is hit with a spear, legdrop stunner or any move for that matter he makes the moves look devastating...Goldberg or Hogan get hit with a move...and don't react this really pisses me off it is as though they believe they ar better than everyone else?!! |

How can you call them useless when they've drawn a lot of money and sold a lot of merchandise?

they're not useless I just hate to watch them wrestle, they bore me....Hogan without a doubt did a hell of alot for wwf/wwe as did goldberg for wcw...as companies.. but as far as pushing other superstars they were shit. for example triple h is 18/19 stone of twisted steel however he still gives win's to shelton Benjamin and goes out his way to help the likes of Eugene....What did goldberg do about fighting weaker opponents....beat christian in 2 minutes, beat lance storm in 3 moves and beat matt hardy in less than ten...in my opinion people like goldberg are not what sports entertainment is about.... of course they draw in money but for all the wrong reasons. |

Hulk Hogan also killed Vader's career thanks to his egotism, specifically when he no-sold Vader's powerbomb (The same powerbomb that, amongst other things, broke some jobber's back and caused no less than Mick Foley to pass out after he was hit with it outside the ring). Stupid Hogan. To say nothing of Hogan's contributions to the death of WCW...but that's another story. |

You can't deny that the man was a driving force in wrestling entering the mainstream though. I'm not the biggest fan of Hogan in or outside the ring, but he did contribute to the business. Now as for him having creative control in WCW... *dies laughing* |

Who doesn't love threadjacking? I can't get enough of it myself... Anyone watching TNA? I only bought the $.01 PPV, but ever since Impact came on, I've been watching that. Apparently it's been doing quite well for a Fox Sports Net show (at THREE IN THE AFTERNOON on Fridays, even!) and there's talk of moving it to FX on Monday nights. It's a good alternative to WWE, in that it's more wrestling oriented and the Sportz Entertainment is mostly about the in-ring bit. For instance, the big feud between AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian/Michael Shane is based on Shane and Kazarian wanting Styles out of the X Division because he left it to go for the World Championship, then came back for the X Division title. (The X Division's roughly analagous to the typical cruiserweight style, except, as the slogan goes, "It's not about weight limits, it's about no limits!" All you have to do is wrestle that style.) Mike Tenay really helps out with his announcing... he knows everything about anything, as long as it involves wrestling, so he gives people plenty of background on new or new-to-you competitors. Take, f'rinstance, Alex Shelley. He made his debut last week. But now we know he's a technical wondermind who studied all kinds of international styles, including the relatively unknown British style (based more in submission work). Now he's Goldylocks's new protege. |

I've downloaded a couple of episodes of Impact. Sadly, the TV show might be better than the weekly PPV's. Too bad it'll never get clearance in Canada - all the major sports networks air WWE. |

Oh, there's no denying Hogan's influence in bringing the "sport" (And I use the term rather loosely here) to the mainstream. How much was him and how much was Vince McMahon's marketing, though, can be debated. You know, it's interesting to think of how "in the dark" we were then compared to now. I'm talking about how, thanks to the Internet, we know (Or think we know) a lot more about what goes on backstage now than we did then. We had no idea that Hogan was a political nightmare during his time in WWF (And to a lesser extent, no one had any clue it was the same in WCW until it was too late); most people cheered him on, oblivious to the fact that the reason he was on top for so long was because he wanted it that way. Now we know these things, and we get quite a bit of mileage out of saying, for instance, "Triple H is only a main-eventer because he's banging Steph" and such. Yeah.... NWA/TNA. Caught one of their shows at some point in late 2003...maybe I happened to catch the wrong one, but I was wholly unimpressed with everything save for the first match of the night. |

The problem with TNA is that if you spend $10 on one of their PPV's... It's hit and miss. Either you'll luck out and get something that's worth $10, or something that's only worth $1-2. Not only that, but it's not like 10,000 people are watching each week either. |

still haven't seen tna it's full of guys like road dogg and jeff jarrett right?.... probably will not see it t'be honest...I don't have sky I only get to see wwe and friends tape it.... I hope Brock lesnar stops trying to pursue his football career and brings his ass back to the wwe....f-5 fury would rule the ring....Brock leaving did knock the wwe down luckily they recovered quickly.... Brock only had around one year at the top I'm sure he could be a mayjor part of a good few more if he decides to return...apparantly he left on good terms with vince so it's not impossible. now cry in fear. Yeah man, definitely. I heard that he tried out for the vikings. I heard that they were very impressed, but he didn't make the squad.

Doesn't mean that he won't in the near future though. Lots of teams are interested in Brock from what I'm reading. The question is who ends up taking a gamble. |

I guess the main question with Brock in the NFL is how much good time a squad will get out of him (And Brock himself has said basically he has no illusions about being a Pro-Bowl caliber player; all he wants is a chance to contribute)...he's something like 26 now, so 2-3 years to develop puts him at 28-29 (As opposed to a guy out of college who would probably be closer to 24-25 at the high end)... That's my understanding from watching the SportsCenter segment on him some time back, anyway. |
