Hey, everyone.

Let me start off by saying THANK GOD for FuSoYa and his SMW Lunar Magic.
I have been waiting for YEARS finding something that I could use to make my own Mario levels AND play them.

I loved drawing Mario levels on paper....yeah, maybe a bit extreme...but I loved it nontheless.

Anyways, I wanted to play some fan-made Mario games, including the popular Demo World, however I'm a wee bit computer st00pid and have little to no idea what I am doing.

I have the ROM and as far as I know, I am applying the Lunar Expander and IPS patches ok.....but is there anywhere here that can help retards like myself in loading a fan-made hacked SMW game to play on my ZSNES?

I'm frustrated beyond belief trying to get this stuff to work.

Well... Just... Go in to ZSNES... do a small amount of navigation in order to get in to the directory that has the .smc file, properly patched... And open it. Of course you should probably set your controls if you haven't done so already. Normally I wouldn't say something so obvious but hey, I've seen dumber things happen

Be sure to use a virgin SMW ROM with 512 KB in size for each hack you're using.
Alternatively you won't need to patch the SMW ROMs in the most cases. You also simply could use ZSNES' implemented auto-patching feature by putting the IPS into the same directory where the SMW ROM is, then giving both files tha same name, like
MarioHack.smc and MarioHack.ips

ZSNES will load the ROM but use the IPS instead temporarily, which contains the changes between the original ROM (what's the virgin ROM you'd have in that case) and the hacked game.

Hey, I once played the whole game on paper. Even the bonus game at 100 stars.

What you need to do is patch the original SMW ROM with a program like Lunar IPS (see Fusoya's site), then play it. Remember to keep a copy of the unpatched ROM though.

Yea, I used to do it to (a long long time ago).

Heh. Not just Mario. I did the same thing in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Get a sheet of paper, a pencil, rubber, a ruler an go
I used to draw mostly SMB1 castles, because it was better to have no cape, it was hard to simulate the fire bars though; I put in small dotted circles, showing the range the barriers need when rotating
And I ever dreamt of an editor for SMB/SMW later on ... I had crappy thoughts about an editor on SNES then; having a moveable cursor like in Donkey Kong for GB, when you touched a platform or ladder block, but there's Lunar Magic today finally

You probably even might want to outline your basic layout on paper, then mapping the levels in LM and fine-tuning the rest of the level
